Great battle report. As a Flesh Tearer (amongst other armies) I wholeheartedly support any action which see’s the sons of Sanguinius out to play. Incidentally, the Chaplain that was with the Death Company that went to deal with the Vindicare was never wounded (As the Vindicare failed to shield break his Rosarius) so that Culexus would have been smashed an initiative step or two earlier! As a general idea/point of view Lawrence, just in case you’re still watching the replies to these old vids of yours (they’re new to me as a new subscriber!), but I always figure that for… Read more »

150 points for a guy who is essentially guaranteed to kill one model would be broken. Hitting on 2+s (rerolling to 4s), wounding on 2+s, inflicting D3 wounds, 4D6 armour penetrating at +1 and breaking invulnerable saves? No way. Especially since it’s really hard to make look out sirs (as with all Assassins iirc) and he Ignores Cover.

Awesome to see someone else stoked on Imperial Agents and more specifically the Inquisition! Colonel, don’t you have to also take a fast attack for your grey knights daemonhunter strike force? I have been really wondering if the rule “Chambers Militant” Means that if you have an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor you can take Grey Knight terminators instead of Acolytes can you explain that?

Blood Angels on the channel at last – fantastic! Really enjoying watching how you’re truying to make a BA MURDA list work. Just wondering – did you try assaulting the first hellhound with the DC dreadnought? Whilst it would’ve been a long charge, the magna grapples give you a re-roll vs vehicles. The biggest problems I’ve had when trying to come up with my own MURDA variations are that 1) BA can be devastating on the charge, but in the second turn of the assault, or if they get assaulted themselves, or if they make a disordered charge, they become… Read more »

Can imagine Astorath cheering and whooping in the background, maybe hes not so grim? but love to see the Blood Angels Death Company finally getting a win

Just wondering if you realise you dont have to disembark from the lucius drop pods when they arrive. Its this fact that makes them so powerful in my opinion.

I know it didn’t really come up, but when the colonel was casting he would only harness on 6s when within twelve of the Culexus. Also, I think it’s a shame they didn’t update the rules for the assassins. Their lightning reflexes need to be a 3+ to justify bringing them otherwise at an average of 140pts a piece they just get doubled out too easily. I agree with the colonel on the vindicare deserving all three rounds on his shots. Though I would also add that he makes overwatch at full ballistic skill. The Eversor thematically as an insane… Read more »

Even though the Colonel is usually very subdued when playing, he sounded completely deflated by the end of turn 2. Losing three of the assassins in one turn really took the wind out of his army’s sails it seems. I like both of these forces but I was cheering on the Death Company. Great win for them:)

In my opinion the Vindicare may be a bit overpriced but I think most people use him wrong. I had some success with him when using him in more of a defensive role, like taking out special/heavy weapons that immediately threaten your units, for etc. (not that it was a possibility in that game). That works best in concert with a thunderfire cannon where you can hide him in that piece of terrain that the techmarine fortified for you, for that nice 2+ cover save.

I think the emperors blade formation was not a good choice for this kind of gametype.

An assault based force beat a gun line army by shooting mainly? Weird.

Vindicare is most definitely underpowered or overcosted, whichever way you want to look at it. Callidus and culexis are brutal, though. They’re the ones I kill first whenever my brother uses them against me.
