Sorry if this has been asked before and I’ve just missed it, but how does Bone do the blueish green glowing visor effects? It’s sick and I’d love to use it on some scions! Would be a great painting tutorial tips video 😉
Loved the video as usual, keep up the good work!

Is it not so that a unit that wins combat is technically still in combat until it consolidates, and seeing as the soulburst is instant; a unit that wins combat technically cant soulburst?

Tabletop Tactics

??? Exactly. I mean they are already way too powerful anyway!

Fu&%ed with no lube alongside ‘sit back and watch me play with myself’ Possibly the dual stormsurge build, with the twin-linked FW marker light support, or some Daemon builds or a War con, or some reengage builds, I think you think long and hard about the match-up if this is to come out again as it was brutal to watch

God the Ynnari… just… disgusting

Just curious if after the ITC or GW FAQ, would this ruling change how the assault phase in the BR would work. I figured that after the FAQ, if you assault a resolved assault you would only get to make attacks at initiative steps lower than you were at when you destroyed the unit that triggered the soulburst. This new dynamic to the game has my head spinning haha and I am just curious because I am going to field a Ynnari list tomorrow and I want to get it right 🙂

So this thought might be crazy – but in light of not getting to fight the assault again due to soulburst. What about a solid assault army? Space Wolves or Orks? Because of the MSU on the Ynnari’s part you would need a decent number of units yourself which is why I’m thinking it might not work with Blood Angels. But all of the bonus soulburst stuff happens as if it were in the phase it should be happening in. So no shooting, moving, or charging if the unit is locked in combat. Obviously the sheer speed of this list… Read more »

The glazed look on Bones face when talking about Guyver! Never watched the first animated series but have the 2005 series on DVD somewhere, but the manga was better than both. Not sure how the golden God armour relates to Ynnari though…. Love the paint job on the Yncarn, the blue and white works really well with the white of the Ghosts and looks so much better than the garish green and violet GW studio paint job. I was surprised you put it on the table at the first oportunity, having played several games with him now I’ve found he’s… Read more »

I think you also made a mistake with the scattering blast template. Only the target is allowed to jink, if the blast scatters onto another target that unit CAN’T jink and also other models of unit that partially clipped. Nevertheless interessting batrep, which shows how unbalanced Ynnari are. Hope 8th edition will fix this somehow…

Plan A
Kill them all on the first turn.

Plan B
Don’t take any objectives. You want to spread out their forces as much as possible.
Try and kill all but one in each squad. Do not, under any circumstances, destroy the entire squad.
Also do not die. Especially anywhere near them or your fellow soldiers. If mortally wounded, it’d be great if you could first drag your corpse over to that hole we have prepared waaaay over there.

Ahhh Lawrence, you know that for 3+, it’s normally 66% chance of success… When you roll your dice, you’re above 80%, all the time! ? I hope I’d roll like you ?
Nice batrep by the way, woyld be interesting to see what Ynarii do against a tanking army or murder list.

Only thing I think you guys got wrong is the charging out of Shadowstrike at minute 1:27:00 towards the Riptide and doing the combat all over again. Rulling says: A unit that makes a charge in the Fight sub-phase does so at the end of the current Initiative step, and once they have charged, the Initiative steps continue to resolve as before (including for models in the charging unit). Meaning, the fight with the riptide was already at Initiative step 1, so new unit could not attack. And even if that’s not how it works, the fight against Shadowstrike was… Read more »

Hmmmm. Cant work out if I enjoyed that or not! Fabulous looking armies and a really cinematic game. You forgot at the end to emphasise that the best shooty army in the game, went first, with the best deployment type, and got tabled with most of the Ynnari intact. They weren’t really that damaged. Two serious points to make. Firstly, I hope this is the mini end times for 40k before the new rules come out, because I fear they may lose players if they keep designing armies and the game ends up like this. Why not bring the orks… Read more »

I’ve been saying since I saw your Warhammer TV game: Ynnari are the Kanye West of WH40k factions. “Sure, your turn is pretty good, and I’ll let you take your turn, but Ima just take my turn during your turn, and then I’ll take my turn during my turn, too, because my turn is the greatest turn of all time.”

I really felt for Bone at the 1 hour mark. That weight of fire and the prospect of more the moment something dies.

Cool game! When you said you’ll get some real smashers out for us, you sure weren’t kidding! What’s a real shame is, that while the Ynnari provide some awesome fluffy AND pretty strong options, majority of people will just use them to field broken stuff like you did here, and everyone will hate them, it would be impossible to play them/against them. A pity, before the Fracture Book I really wasn’t sold on the whole “all Eldar are bros” thing, but it made me reconsider. Looking forward to seeing the new cool not-broken Eldar stuff in the future. Cheers! PS:… Read more »

Thanks for the competitive game. It was monstrous, of course, but seeing you do your best is what first got me hooked and eventually to subscribe.
This also spares my friends from having to play vs this list because the first thing I also thought when I saw the Ynnari was, huh, I can take a Lhamaean, Wraithknight and 10 jetbikes squads that get to shoot twice… seeing is believing.

Wow! Turn 3 and done like dinner?! I’m actually building Ynnari atm, have all three “Eldar” codex’s, my list is a touch different to yours, I’ve got three venoms with kabs and one syberite with blast pistol in each, haywire nade, 3 squads with 6 reavers, 2 blasters and trops in each and the elite wind riders for their beta striking shenanigans, scatt lasers 3 goups of 6 and a wraith knight with 2 d cannons and a sun cannon comes to 1848

first time I felt bad for a Tau player … auch… good battle anyway. quick question. when does a unit stop being “locked in combat” because rulebook says “at the end of any phase” does it use the “assault” phase or any of the sub phases as well? as such, can you chain like you did from the riptide to the ghost keel?

i would like to see a murder list for the Ynnari. Now that they can take open topped transports a close combat aspect host would be fun to watch especially if you played with the full triumvirate and had them join some units of howling banshees or something. Not sure if it would be competitive really but it would be something i would like to see just as fun game considering alot of the time eldar are dominated by shooting.

at 32:30, i thought you couldn’t jink if you weren’t targeted? It was in the FAQ, or is that am ITC thing?
