Amazing Review guys!!! Just bought a Skitarii army. I really like Bones list.

If an Imperial knight codex drops I will be a Happy Happy Happy person. But I think they are going to get spread out over the other dexs. They are Lords of War.. 🙁

Really interesting picks guys. Your absolutely right the Dragoons are completely devastating, especially when combined with the Stygies infiltration stratagem and the +2 to hit stratagem, they can and do run riot amongst the enemy lines. Really like the idea of using lots of Ranger snipers, I’ve used 3 at once but not had much success, however I’ll try larger numbers now, see how it goes. I’m typically running a Mars gunline and a unit of 6 Stygies Dragoons infiltrating in, it’s extremely effective when supported by 6 Bots and 3 Dunecrawlers. Finally, I’ll probably never live down my hasty… Read more »

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but you should really do a follow up bat rep with the lists showing their potential against a another good army. Gives people a feel for the list and see it working in action.

The Ryza Relic is Weapon 99, aka the Flake Gun. I’m quite a fan of the gun personally, I think it’s the only ad mech weapon relic worth taking.

So the Stygies VIII strategem is used before the first turn begins meaning the unit you “clandestine infiltrate” can still move in the movement phase. Imagine infiltrating a full unit of Dragoons turn one, they move ten, that’s a two inch granteed charge, I would take another look at it gentlemen!

Any chance you can enable video toggle on the Vimeo player? I would like to be able to increase the size without going full screen. (MiniWG have this on theirs if you have access to see what I mean)

Amazing review as always!
Why wouldn’t you take advantage of the forge worlds doctrina/stratagemes in different detachments in your lists?
The list that I’m building is Mars with Cawl, robots and onagers and a second detachment from stygia with rangers and dragoons, so basically a mix of both your lists with only a minor tax (useless enginseers in the Stygia detachment).
Can’t wait to see battle reports with the new guy, can we call him “the cog”?

Is it possible for you to timestamp these longer videos by section?

One critical thing you missed about the Sicarian Infiltrators and the Sydonian Dragoons which i think a lot of people overlook is that if you use the stratagem Conqueror doctrina imperative (Which lets you add 1 to hit rolls or 2 if the unit has an enhanced data-tether or broad spectrum data-tether), you then have let’s say a unit of 3 dragoons, hitting on 2’s but on a 4+ you generate an ADDITIONAL 2 automatic hits. So on average, your 9 S8 AP-1 D2 hits instead become 21 hits, if you combine it with the canticle Chant of the remorseless… Read more »

Really enjoy these, love the format, reasonable amount of depth and the excellent chemistry you guys got going 🙂

Re: the whole -1 to hit for over 12″ away, it feels that generally that’s more useful to Cult Mechanicus than say Alpha Legion, which as a Chaos force is generally going to want to brain you up close. Even if the Alpha Legion force was geared towards range, it’ll probably still want to get up close because I can’t see how a geared for shooting chaos army could possibly outshoot a Mechanicus army… short of bone-level 8th ed Tau luck I suppose. Are radium carbine actually deceptively powerful? I actually kinda view it a bit like a Bloodletter’s hellblade.… Read more »

hey guys what forge world transport are you on about in this vid? I’ve looked and as far as i can see none of HH range can be used in add mech. Also great video helped me alot with the new add mech codex.

Great video, really interesting comments – I’m slowly working on my Adeptus Mechanicus army. Which Forge World transport can Adeptus Mechanicus use in 40K? I’ve always thought it would be cool to have the Skitarii deploying from transports, even if it’s just for casual games. The Stygies Infiltration stratagem would be great on the Dragoons, both as a delivery system and to push deep striking alpha strike armies away from your main castle (and out of melta / rapid fire plasma range). As it’s performed during deployment, can you use this stratagem multiple times? I assumed that’s why the relic… Read more »

You can use the deep strike strat from Lucius as many times as you want, since you are declaring it before a phase, same as ravenguard/alpha legion.

44:50 Sadly Machine Spirit’s Revenge only works on Adeptus Mechanicus vehicles, and the Knights don’t have that keyword.

Otherwise, love that you guys are carrying on these tactica videos for all the new codices! Keep it up 🙂

One of the reasons i subscribed to this channel was how you all obviously care about theme and the 40k lore, always nice to hear it voiced, even in the tactica! I’m very much looking forward to the guard one. Catachans were my first ever GW purchase many years ago, but i defaulted to cadians cos the models are a bit old, a tad too muscle bound. Getting specific rules which make them strength 4 though, i could be tempted, it’s just good enough to be plucky, which i like 🙂 could a guard ‘combat army’ actually be a thing?… Read more »

18:37 Issue with the Graia rule is that it specifically *doesn’t* proc on every wound, just the last one. So it’s wrong to think of it as a FNP. The big question for my money (which I think will need to be FAQ’d) is whether a model suffering a multi-damage wound would need to make a Refusal To Yield roll for every damage, or simply 1 roll of a 6+. If it’s the latter then in conjunction with the Graia warlord trait – one of the few with genuine potential to be interesting – a horde-style Ad Mech army comprising… Read more »

I would argue that electro-priests would still be worth using the Lucius or Stygies strategem on, in that if they hit a bubble wrapping cheap unit, there’s still a good chance they’ll clear it out, gaining that 3+ invul for the rest of the game! Could be a very handy way to get them buffed right off the bat. And if they don’t bubble wrap, you’re doing the damage you want to what you want! Also it can still be useful, at least for the Lucius version, in that you can deploy them at least farther forward than their natural… Read more »

Great watch guys and really interesting to know how these rules can be combined! As a wolves player really interested in seeing how the codex will have rules and strategems for combat armies. Both lists sound like a swift defeat for anything I could table atm…

The slightly confusing thing is that these “almost the same” Forge World (Chapter, Craftworld, etc..) Traits are all subtly different.

Ulthwe works on every wound lost on everything, but not moral while Graia only kicks in on the last wound lost of any multi-wound model AND has the no Fall Back drawback (though it might save an entire multi-wound model from moral) and Iron Hands doesn’t work on Tanks, Flyers, etc..

Same for Alaitoc, Raven Guard, Stygies, etc.. There are all just ever so slightly different.
