Hey hey guys. Bone, Lawrence n Sanga. Hey Sanga. Watch out when you get cheated dude. Your Sanga Guard have a 2+ save so at 1h35/40min mark they were hit by -4 attack. And They said “no save for you”… well

Daniel McCarthy

Don’t know if this has been said yet (I didn’t read all the comments) but the Sanguinary Guard starts their saves at a 2+ which would have saved them, but the Spider was counting them at a 3+. Sanger don’t just trust what people say, check your rules. I loved the thug life stuff at the beginning though lol I still love watching you guys! Keep making these awesome batreps!

The moment that the blood angels made the choice of firing their assault cannons at the whitetides, I knew it was going to be a bad game for them. 😛

Some quick pointers for @benjaminbonar:disqus . You can make FNP equivalents for mortal wounds, so Stim injector saves on Nova Charge, and you can make Sense of Stone saves on Nova Charge (Y’vara has the Battle suit Keyword), so with an Ethereal nearby you get two 6+++ saves for every damage made to your Y’vara’s, including Nova Charge damage, this essentially gives them ~5 more wounds each. The 5 points for a hover Drone on an Ethereal so they can keep up are very well spent because of this. You should open with your Fire Blades marker if you’re also… Read more »

epic game gentlemen, however i didnt see it brought up in the comments, the sanguinary guard have a 2+ save, the ytide with a minus 3 would have gave them a 5+ and the solid shot weapon would have had a 6+ lawrence said no save at this point.

keep up the excellent work though gents

Am I remembering correctly. . . but savior protocols are before a save is rolled, and bodyguard saves are after. . .?

I think they should have a rematch between the Space Wolves and the Blood Angels. That would be a good bout for Bone’s first presenting gig.
Just my two cents anyway. I may just be partial to Space Wolves haha!

Bone could you please get a purple toga and wear it every time you are playing your Tau. Just the toga, nothing else – just Toga

2 * 400 plus point models in a 2k game is way too much in standard games

Great to see 2 guys soldiering on with army’s that are in a tough spot right now. Especially my favorite Blood Angles! Those 2 Big boys are definitely trouble! Given what went on with the drones and the combat i’d probably call that a draw/ great learning experience.

Have to say I’ve been watching you guys for a few months (got on demand recently) and you guys are by far the best bat reps (and tactica, etc) out there. You’re so far ahead of everyone else its hard for me to go watch others. Incredible mix of tactics, discussions, sportsmanship, and comedy. Keep up the good work!!

Love the battle reports guys and always nice to see how engaged you are with all the comments and community. 4 months in to on demand and loving every bit of it.

Happy Birthday Hannah,

Honestly viewers watching learn more from watching games like this than watching bat reps where eveything goes perfectly. It was a good game and for a moment it looked like the blood angels where gonna make a come back. Had he done in turn 1 what he did in turn 2, the outcome would have changed some at least. Still very good list Bone, and Tau deserve a good showing. Can’t wait to see what the stage 5 alteration will be. Great job per usual guys.

Wanted to finally post and say that you guys are awesome…I’ve got 6 month old twins and your channel has been what keeps me sane…when they go to bed I paint and watch anything posted here.

On another note, I’ve played Tau since the day they released. It is humorous, Bone, (get it…humorous…Bone..?) that you won’t take commanders…but are now using 2 y-tides. They’re arguably one of the more broken FW units =P. That being said I’m painting one right now and love to see marines getting toasted!

Thank you all for the great content you produce.

Way to go B-bone, always cheerin for ya boss. But not to sell Sanga short, new on the scene and doing great. Enjoyable Batrep as always !
Looking forward to the next, i vote for the Wolves as well, working on a all Dread wolves list myself.
I Got a fever.. and the only prescription is more Dreadnoughts

Great report, guys, thank you! Really enjoyed this one with all three of you together – top-notch humour, you made me laugh several limes here. Mr. B-Bone was on fire the whole game. Nice one!

You did great Sanga! Keep at it and you’ll be winning games against the rest of the crew in no time!

I hope sanguinary guard get some love in the new codex, as it stands they are 49 points each with the axe/boltgun, which is crazy! Custodian guard are around 10 points more each and have significantly better stats, although they don’t fly or have a 12″ move.

15 minutes in and I’m chortling so hard I need my bolts tightened!!!

This was a good-looking battle report as always guys, really enjoyed watching through it. I think Sanga could have had better luck by employing different tactics in the game, however. Focusing all the Razorbacks on the Y-vahra didn’t make sense to me – the assault cannons are almost perfectly suited to removing the Fire Warriors from the board. Putting the Stormraven on its own directly in front of the entire Tau gunline left it far too exposed. Buying the Sanguinary Guard and two buffing characters and then not deploying them together meant you’re paying points for a synergy you get… Read more »

Still loved it! Even though there were in fact a lot of errors. Whilst I’m preparing for a tournament I must say what works best for me to get to know armies and rules better, is to replay the exact same matchup with the same armies, albeit on a different table and different mission. So I’m all for a Tau – BA rematch next, and am anxious to see what both players do better that time.

Always epic seeing Bbone in action. happy bday to hannah. I vote if possible Space wolves against Tyrannids.

Didn’t see if this was brought up – but Bone’s interpretation of Saviour Protocols is incorrect. You have to declare you’re using SP before any armor/invulnerable saves are made. So you either take your 4++, OR you use Saviour Protocols to pass off the wound.

Great batrep guys as always, lol bone you called spider a lorry is that because he hits like a truck 🙂

Sanga… Why did you shoot everything in first turn at that big meany thing 🙂 – I believe it was Lawrence who said “Shot at things that you are sure to kill”

kyle brown

Those things are beasts! Really enjoyed this batrep. Just a quick question though, when the Y’varas was wiping out the sang guard wouldn’t he get a 5 up save against the flamers cause they have a 2+ armour and 6 up save against the cannon?

UnLachy

Good game Sanga 🙂 Better luck next time

I really think flamers and grenades hitting flyers is mega cheese. But that is just my opinion.

Another awesome ‘BattRep” lads. Keep up the great work 🙂

Andreas Rehn
Andreas Rehn

Anyone feel as if the robots don’t really need to roll for their flamer weapon and it could simply be a “kill target unit that contains less than 10 models”? >_<

Otherwise, Sanga, when facing Tau, killing those drones is key or else they will just soak up your heavy weapons (as you probably noticed :P). So get your Assault Cannons or normal marines on them and once they're gone or you've opened up a unit for heavy fire (ie, removed all drones near it), let lose with lascannons, rockets etc and watch em go boom ^_^

Great video guys mistake at the end. Guard have a 2+ on the last round of fire. He made aload of 5 and 6s but Lawrence said he needed sixes. They where dead anyway. Really great battle report unlucky there rob. I have played blood Angels for many years. Considering how over pointed they are at the moment. Paint job looks fantastic

kyle brown

Why is it that now Tau are somewhat the underdogs and difficult to use I real want to start collecting them. I am going to enjoy watching this batrep! Cheers guys!

Chris Hughes

As someone who is completely new to this – I’m behind the Sanga 100%, tough to take on some seasoned generals for the world to see, and he deserves +100 to his boss level for every game! Down with the Toga filth! 😛

Donald Sherwood
Donald Sherwood

I believe there was a mistake in the resolution of the Sanguinary Guard versus the Crisis Suits. After the axes killed two Suits Lawrence stated that the swords that had been declared to attack that unit couldn’t anymore since they were no longer within 1″ (or within 1″ of someone within 1″). However, there is only one point in the steps to resolve a units attacks where you check ranges. This is in the Choose Targets step (step 3 of resolving a Fight). This is done for the entire unit before you roll any dice. Since you never go back… Read more »

Always good to see the Sanga and Blood Angels, but tabletop tactics aside those rolls were amazing for Bone and brutal for the Sanga

Poor unlucky Sanga.
(+ a fair amount of rules errors in the game)

Still a good game.

Franco Nova
Franco Nova

I think this was a very very unbalanced matchup guys! 1 Yvhara is a huge problem, with the drones being additional wounds for 8 points. 2 Y’vharas is just too much for a non Codex army, which depends in pretty much 1 unit. Also, If you know the range of the Yvhara is short, don’t push your most expensive thing right into it’s face! The Storm Raven could have been a pain in the ass shooting from afar. I understand Hurricane Bolters were needed to be in range, but you could have at least gave it one more turn of… Read more »

You are actually supposed to set up the models inside a destroyed vehicle before you roll for them, and only roll for models you were able to place.

Hey Spider, question. How hard would it be to make the video go full screen to the view port on the browser instead of just only full screen to the monitor of the viewer?

Happy birthday Hannah! Great batrep as always guys ?. World eaters V Blood Angels sounds good, time for the Sanga-uinor (sorry!) to get his revenge.

GerManticore
GerManticore

Great fight. Nothing like some FW cheese 🙂

That said, it shouldn’t have been quite as bad. Allocating wounds (Step 3 in the rulesbook, p. 188) to a drone or not to a drone happens before any kind of saving roll and certainly before wounds become, potentially, multiple damage for “FNP” things. Got to make the choice before rolling that invul. save on the Y’vahra or not.

Jamie Birse
Jamie Birse

Noooo Sanga!! You have 2+ saves on your Sanguinary Guard not 3+!!! Great to watch anyway though!

Grendle
Grendle

Cool game guys! Y-Tides are boss!
I think B-Bone was rolling for all the crisis suits as 3 plasma (3 rapid fire shots) but I though one from each squad had one less plasma gun for a drone controller. During the turn they all died, I think the sanguinary guard saves were done assuming they all had 3+ saves but they really have 2+ armor. So, -2 AP from the flamer plus -1 AP from his wargear makes 5+ saves for the sanguinary guard not 6+. From what is shown on camera, Sanga actually makes 2 more saves.

Fletcher Giles
Fletcher Giles

You can’t do a save on the Riptide and then Saviour Protocols, you have to do one or the other!!!

Franco Nova
Franco Nova

That’s not how Saviour Protocols work! You declare you’re using it before the save is made! You can’t try to save with the Suit and if it fails pass the wound to the drone!
