Only just watched this guys. Great job. Just wondering though how you play cover rules? When the 1950s robots shot the tomb blades it looked like they could only see the one on top of the scenery but they killed the ones behind it as well? Not played much 8th yet so forgive me if it’s an obvious question.

Where did games workshop say 6 causes a re roll even if they roll a 7

Colin Goodman

It should be modifier and then re-roll. That feels more logical. I’m sure GW have their reasons but I’ve never seen anything in a game or on a battle report where it would have had a detrimental effect if it had been the other way around.

If Tabletop Tactics had Pastry Vision, Bat Reps would last 5 hours.

Sooooo can u reroll overwatch with cawl or not. Seen posts about you can and cant. I didnt think u can but wouldnt mind a bit of clarification

Yeah, I absolutely love the channel, but Chef needs to chill out on the rants. He did it on at least one other video and then smashed who he was playing. It is definitely approaching (if not already being) “that guy” level.

You can NOT use Cawl’s aura to reroll overwatch!! While it does allow reroll’s despite modifiers, it can ONLY be used in the “Shooting Phase”!! comment image

Great BR as ever, I think you need a separate series dedicated to Chef rants! ?

Admech is one of my favorite armies, but despite that, I found myself rooting for Chef this game. Guess I just normally root for the underdog lol. It was an interesting list, and I think the nightbringer is really cool, but the list really did need more anti-vehicle punch. Vehicles seem to be extremely prevalent this edition, so I’ve found its rare to have too many anti-vehicle guns lol. (But to be fair I play eldar and Admech, both of which are extremely good at killing vehicles)

I’ve tuned in for the first in a few weeks (I apologise), but I was treated to a chef rant, its priceless, I’m never going away again

Good work lads. I’m learning how to play Admech and these vids are really helping – thanks!

For the sieze roll i think its not before modifiers since to the roll of you dont have a target number you just roll so if you tie you add the modifier then you win. Just my oppinion.

Love those Necrons! Any chance we could convince the Chef to share his colour scheme with us?

I enjoy Lawrences sense of humor… 🙁 lol

Mainly because it makes everyone else cringe. lol

Chef could just have charged one dunecrawler with the scarabs and then piled in to the robot and other dunecrawler… Maybe not a game changer but would have made a huge difference.

R4zl
R4zl

Robots fighting twice can pile in and consolidate twice, right? meaning they could have piled in and consolidated into the blog of infantry turn 2.

R4zl
R4zl

Chef is kring a bit too WAAC to me. The removal of the wraiths was a good move and you did do it by the book but then chef still got to pile in and fight? He would not have been able too since he wasn’t within 1″ so wouldn’t have been able to activate.

Máté Császár
Máté Császár

Rangers are LD8 vanguard LD7, also i dont get why dont you just pile in with the 3″ into the robots on first charge with the wraiths.Sometimes i dont get how people not know the rules for the own army or maybe its just infront of the camera 😀

Máté Császár
Máté Császár

Cawl reroll effect only in shooting phase, and rangers /vanguard got a 6+ invun save 🙂 I would suggest to run the robots in bigger groups for stratagem , and get some dragoons they are insane 🙂

Franco Nova
Franco Nova

Important thing, the Wraith, in turn 1 Ad Mech, CANNOT pile In towards the robots, since he’s no longer within 1″ when it’s picked to fight, so he’s not technicaly engaged. You ended up not doing it for other reasons

Skylar Petitt
Skylar Petitt

Don’t know if someone mentioned it already, Chef, but you can charge one unit and then pile in to a bunch of others; so that charge with your scarabs against the two doomcrawlers and the robot near the end would have gone much better if you had just charged one doomcrawler and piled in to the others units! anyway, good game!

Stig!! Well done, those battle bots came through for you and that one command point you spent to save the robots life came through in spades, that was awesome. The dakka bots came through as well, well the one especially at the end against the immortals, lots of BS 4++ makes Cawl an excellent pick. Was surprised at their resiliency as well but I also think that is a Necron weakness, high toughness- high wound-high save models. I hope to see you rematch the Sanger or crush the bones of B-Bone… maybe even while he narrates his own demise?? Just… Read more »

On the smite spam issue, I’ve always thought a Warp Charge 5 is a little too low, even increasing it to 6 could see it even out a bit more. And I’m saying that as a 1K Sons player! :O

So I think this game really highlights where AdMech is at currently, overreliance on Belisarius Cawl, this is not a dig on the Stig! Just an observation on the AdMech player base as a whole. Yes Dakka bots have flairs of brilliance and they are scary, Belisarius Cawl is extremely good, especially when paired with 4+ BS units. However, those 4+ BS units (Kataphrons and Kastelan) are EXTREMELY expensive and couple that with the expense of Cawl makes the model count in an army, that needs MASSIVE amounts of bodies to guard their juicy innards, so incredibly low that I… Read more »

Neutronogers have a pair of heavy stubbers each if I am not mistaken, not just the one. It’s the reason why they are the auto take in fact since they fire 7-9 shots each meaning they do everything well.

Marcello Genovese
Marcello Genovese

At minute 144, big no no chef. After all the talk about accurately performing pile ins you didn’t pile the rear scarabs in correctly, they needed to pile towards the punchy robots 😛 It’s not a big deal, but you wouldn’t have been able to moved more attacks into the shooty bot.

Marcello Genovese
Marcello Genovese

You don’t need to pile in every model, nor do you need to use the full 3 inches, Stig only needed to move his one robot to barely within 1 inch of the scarabs and he doesn’t have to take the shortest route, he merely needs to end his pile in closer then it was from the start. I am fairly confident he could have piled in 1/4 inch skewed toward the scarabs and the ships hull (terrain) and kept the other bot stationary. Also Stig really shouldn’t waste shots on the Ghost ark, the neutron lasers would have killed… Read more »

Not sure its a great idea to be taking characters like cawl and Bobby G against non codex armies. They are just too strong!! I would have loved to see an admech list with a different forge world trait against the necrons. Also chef should look into changing the size of his night bringer, in a edition where looking up units with consolidations and pile in moves. having a base that much bigger than the actual model is a little unfair.

Anyways enough moaning. Keep up the great work gents

With the consolidation in turn one. The rules read “You may move each model in the unit up to 3″ – this move can be in any direction so long as the model ends the move closer to the nearest enemy model.” Wouldn’t this mean that Stig could’ve moved one of the 1950s space robots from outer space towards the wraith a fraction of an inch, and moved the other one towards the scarabs enough to be within 1″ of them, thus been able to attack with one of the robots a 2nd time? Maybe you measured it and it… Read more »

Why wouldn’t Chef have consolidated the wraiths into the Dakkabots turn 1? Stop them from shooting.

would anybody like to shed some light on the heavy elite style necron army of the destroyers/barrage with triarch stalkers for the target relays, or are the points costs just too much for this to be viable?

drakkon

50s Robots VS the wraiths, if the 50s Robots are a “unit” and not considered separate models (i dont know admech) and the unit of scarabs contains the closest enemy model to the 50s Robots, then just consolidate into the closest enemy model. One robot would be out of range, sure (but he did have the chance to attack twice, so another 3″ pile in move would put him in range?) but that doesn’t matter because he ends up closer to an enemy model. Why would you separate it for each model the way you did saying his closer there and… Read more »

Chef chef you are bugging me can’t watch past this before commenting , Chapter approved WILL change points for the 11 unreleased codex armys this is one of the core things about chapter approved it has been officially stated on multiple occasions, they even made a community page post about it. You should maybe just maybe step out of the kitchen once in a while : ) As a fellow xenos player I think we will be happy after CA drops. And Spider might be happy to know that mars 2018 is set for a balance faq that is to… Read more »

great game. I know this game isn’t a tactica but the game was very much lost by not tying up 2 of those robot units in combat turn 1. The pile in and consolidation isn’t a tactica but now a natural part of the game and should never be ignored. The wraiths can survive the combat attacks to stop them shooting.

Another great batrep guys!!! Stig rocking a strong victory against Chef and its starting to make me think about doing an Admec list. As for the jokes Lawrence keep them up. You constantly make me chuckle but not from the jokes but because of how funny you find them lol also when is the next cast of players?

great report as usual gents! Love seeing AdMech on the channel! A few pointers for our new buddy Stig: Cawl does not let you reroll shots in Overwatch(shooting phase only), Onager Dunecrawlers have a WS of 5+, Robots can still fight in the fight phase when in Protector protocol, – Pro tip – If you use Binharic Overdrive at the end of your shooting phase you would be able to shoot with your robots and still fight twice if you choose Conqueror Protocol!

Robert Martinez

I thought when those 50s robots roll a 6 on a save they reflect a mortal wound, they did it to the Sanga’s assault troops melta gun, or maybe thats a protocol/strategem

Glad to see you back Chef! Will there be a video on analyzing the Chapter approved changes? Would love to see one

I don’t think invulnerable saves are all that ‘really important.’ You can’t tell me that a 5+ invulnerable save on a daemon troop makes or breaks them. I think it’s rather superfluous actually. No one is going to waste Lascannon’s or other high AP shots or attacks on them (which are usually Anti-tank) on a Daemonette unless they’ve already shot to crap that Bloodthirster or Kairos. The incidental save they get against bolter spam is just that, incidental. You’ll have much better odds saving your Space Marine’s or Aspect Warriors than I will that Daemonette, so the fact that it’s… Read more »
