Will awesome to see a rematch with the Tau codex in tow! It’s got some brilliant stratagems and the units have got cheaper in power levels

What is a Y-Tide? Is it some sort of riptide? that’s all i find when i google it. Though maybe XV109 Y’vahra?

Great battle report guys! Stig, you are quickly growing on experience man!
Im looking forward to see the first battle report with the Tau codex tomorrow! Time to duke it out Bone!!

Really great battle report, love seeing admech. some advice for stig on that where i think he missed a few tricks. the sigyez 8 strategem reads “before the first turn” which means they get to move in your movement phase, or in this instance wouldn’t have counted as moving. so they can move right up in there for a garenteed charge, also i might switch out to the 12″ flamers. over all i love the way you used them and im going to have to try it myself in some upcoming games. Also i think you did make the right… Read more »

Guyssss B-Bone & the stig is my faovurite camera combo so far, you bounce off each other really well 🙂 This was my favourite game in a long time, epic!!!

Awesome battle-report as usual guys, Bonecam is always a blast to watch!

Is it me, or does that new Commander of yours still have an unfinished base? Hmmm..?

Such Awesomeness! My 2 favorite armies clashing it together like cheese and nachos.

Is this the Tau army you guys where talking about in the Tactica episode against the world eaters? The secret list

Slight comment on the Editing, you forgot the Audio Background! It fills SO MUCH you have no idea! Not a huge problem, at all, thought it would be good feedback tho 😀

AMAZING Batrep by the way. Both sides played like champs.

Another excellent game guys i still feel that the Stig still has a bit of homework to do on his army but he seems to make improvement with each report.Keep up the good work guys always enjoy watching your battle reports .

Did i miss the bit where the fusion’mander regained lost wounds? He was on 3 wounds remaining then i made a brew looked back at my phone and he has got six left. Then he lost more wounds? Think i need to watch it again lol

Edward Harman

Not sure if anyone else mentioned it. At the end of Stig’s turn 1 combat phase he consolidated his robots into the Y-tide and a Fire Warrior unit. Those units could and should have fought back! You’re missing out on free attacks.

MattDean
MattDean

Also did the Y tide suffer a mortal wound when it used its nova reactor. Not sure if you did, just checking. Great batrep though. I look forward to stigs pure custodies army. Hopefully I can get some tips off it for mine

MattDean
MattDean

Also when shooting the commander ad the dragoons the rolls of a two would become ones and therefore you would suffer a mortal wound. I am not sure if that is correct but I think it is

MattDean
MattDean

Did stig role for canticles on turn 1 or did I miss it?

Matthew Oppegard

Bone starting off you are awesome toga day all day. However sir, Y,vahra’s like all battlesuits, because we like our pilots never explode :/, also shield drones only survive protocols on a 5+, you grabbed a few 4’s there thats only if they are targeted specifically due to the mortal wound bit on savior protocols. Have you tried putting shield gens on stealth suits to bubble wrap commanders? As well why not use the Master of war Mont’ka on the Y’tide to push it up that few more inches, ive found dropping a commander next to them on turn 1… Read more »

Did you forget about shroudpsalm turn 4-5?

The robots get a repulsor grid bounce back inflicting a mortal wound against the target on a 6+ so dead Y’Tide

Also if your firing at something with -1 modifier you overheat on a 2 as well as a 1 (Y’ Tides overheating should have taken some mortal wounds against the dragoons)

My mate always deliberately blows stuff up causing mortal wounds as well (stratagem)

Imperial Grunt

Bone, please don’t forget to tell us about your latest Tau list and how they did. Inquiring minds on the fringe of the Empire want to know!

Fletcher Giles

Bone… when a drone does a saviour protocol only 1 mortal wound gets passed to it, regardless if the weapon firing does multi damage. So it only needs to make one 5+ save to live

1’22’51 -> Epic play Bone. Great bat rep, you two guys are awsome

Very fun battle report and way to play for the objectives. I forget to do that at times, LOL. I don’t think the Y’Vahras blow up when killed, they are battlesuits and do not have the explodes special rule. Love the Y’Vahras though, really looking forward to how they will mesh with the new Codex. A Y’Vahra working in concert with a Riptide or two might be a thing now. We shall see. FOR THE GREATER GOOD!

B-Bone your Tau relic allows you to roll to gain a stratagems each YOU OR your opponent uses a Stratagem. Would make a different to this game I think.

Bonecam gets better every time!

That was an extremely fun game. Making that charge was epic. Can’t wait to see what the codex brings.

Also, we’re left in suspense, did you get your thinner yet?!?

Great battle report. Loving my subscription. Stig, I feel you wasted that deep strike. I was yelling at the screen No! wait till bone advances to middle then drop them in back … but great report and love the armies

B Bone! My band, El Generico, wrote a song called “Girl Hands” that’s about my tiny hands. I think we need to hash out a sponsorship deal ASAP. Ha!

So with the health care benefits and dental plan, plus a good pension, the T’au look like good employers. Do they also supply purple togas as part of the uniform? 😉

Trent Compton

Wow, that was a real nailbiter. And great to see the T’au and the Admech back. I think the Y-tides are really solid, but it does really hurt when they get alpha-struck. Even if they aren’t killed, they often lose the movement to actually get within threat range. But yea, really fun game, good job with the narrative and camera work bone, you are rapidly improving mate.

Marcello Genovese

Bone, in the future, all commander should be in reserve. Also, use your fire warriors to deny special deployment, don’t worry about being in range of that fireblade. Put one unit strung across your front, and two strung across your rear toward the side edge of your deployment. This will shut down his ability to get behind you, beside you and charge from the front. Put all your drones out of small arms fire range if possible, if not put them behind terrain completely. Don’t bother hiding the Y-tides, not gonna happen, instead place them next to a lump of… Read more »

So, I don’t want to sound too critical. But reports involving Stig suffer from a lot of messed up rolling primarily because he is a new player and isn’t solid on profiles and the wounding table. Galvanic rifles are S4, drones are T4, you wound on 4+ mate. Similarly he let Bone roll 4’s to wound his 50’s bots with S8. I think in the future he should clearly read his units profile to the person filming and make sure the proper rolls are arrived at before filming the rolls. I feel kind of bad for Bone as a newer… Read more »

Still watching, but great report so far! Stig: isn’t there a mechanicus strategem to auto explode robots? Recommend to have exploded that last one, would have wiped a lot of troops out for a command point!

Grendle

Great move with the Y-Tide B-Bone! I am always stressing the strategic minutia with using the pile-in and consolidation moves! It is powerful for assault and shooting armies alike!

great game! Any reason this one had no background music?

Wait, is Bone repainting his tau? If so I want pictures damn it 😛

Neither Stig or Bone have appeared on my screen yet. But I had to comment – the Bonecam intro makes me laugh every time! Bloody love it. Now to get comfy and stuck into the battle report…

Yo Bone, ever thought about using Kroot Hounds for screening? Super cheap, fast and can tie up units (rerolling charges)! Pair them with a Shaper for morale and bobs ya uncle.
Great game btw, love all the high tech dakka going on ?

Chris Hughes

Another good game guys! Both lists looking good, will be interesting to see what changes for the Tau with the release of the codex. Stig I think you may have forgotten that your Arc rifles are rapid fire so may have missed out on a few shots (not sure if it would have changed much though!) I assume you were in half range as you were able to use the pistol, best of luck at no retreat!

Andy

a little more care on the savior protocol allocation and depolyment before the tournament and I got my hopes on ya bone!

John Barber
John Barber

Hey stig, not sure about the distance because the camera lies about depth and all that, but correct me if I’m wrong but don’t the Adeptus Mechanicus have a strategem that forces a vehicle to explode? When Bone was killing your poor punch-o-tron’s you could have played that strategem (if it exists haha) and took out that one wound Y’vara. If it was in range. Probably would have made that unit much more worthwhile because I don’t think it actually made it’s points back in terms of points it took from Bone’s list.

William Blackburn
William Blackburn

Hey Bone, Just read the exnos 2 FAQ agian and your shield drones only need to take one feel no pain save as a wound is made into a single mortal wound instead of normal damage.

Also thank you for the awesome game! You are probaly the only battle report guy that makes tau fun to watch for me.

William Blackburn
William Blackburn

B-bone the new Tau Codex comes out in March! I hope you are as excited as I am to see the new Book! Also 50 breaches in devilfish has been a lot of fun and wins me more games than it should. It’s always fun to see your opponent’s reaction when you are in their deployment zone with Tau.

John Glass
John Glass

Great game, as ever, gents. Bone, you took a hard pounding turn 1, but adapted your plan and came back for a good win. T’au are certainly only going to get stronger with a new codex. I really do hope GW address the current rather lame markerlight rules. As for Commander spam, I suspect maybe a points hike? Would hate to see a situation where they are, perhaps, capped at 0-1 per detachment. Stig, lovely looking army. I haven’t played either with or against Ad Mech, so I could be talking rubbish with this suggestion: 2 units of Dragoons would… Read more »

Great game guys, really enjoyed it ^_^ So good to see Mr Bone having begun editing his own battle reports as well and that it’s turning out quite well 🙂 Just two things. 1, won’t the robots reflect shooting attacks when they roll 6s with their invulnerable? 2, When one of the Tau commanders fired a weapon, Mr Bone said something about the commander taking mortal wounds on 1s, but it was okay cause the lowest he rolled was 2 (which then got a -1 and should’ve turned into a 1, thus the miss and possible mortal wound?). I don’t… Read more »

Funny how Gun Drones have to target the nearest enemy unit, yet Marker drones can shoot whoever they like?

Really enjoyed the game. I felt Stigs turn 1 deepstrike went really well. Target priority was on form guys, and that charge was heroic Bone!

Nick

Great battle report. Always love seeing the Tau in action. Eagerly anticipating the Codex, if you guys get it early please give us a sneak peak. On a side note, I think the way savior protocols is worded in the FAQ means you only take a single mortal wound instead of the normal damage (not a mortal wound for each point of damage). Could save your skin against those pesky neutron lazers 😉

Chris Hughes
Chris Hughes

Good game guys, liked both armies. Ad mech robot spam is boss!

Máté Császár

Also with the infiltrate gem you put them up before the first battleround begins, then you can move them in the movement phase so the bots could be 1 ” away from enemy with the 8″ move 🙂

Máté Császár
Máté Császár

Nice batrep always good to see you guys 🙂 if you take dakabots use cawl, if you take fist one give them flamers its better since u move them, you could have the spare points. also dragoons hit hard on the stratagem infiltrate. Takeing my AdMech army to prague open next month got some funny ideas in it .) hope to see you there !

Great stuff B-bone, glad i got to see you and your tau in person at the GT and have a good chat. keep up the good work for the greater good!!!
