Magnus did nothing wrong! Ahriman on the other hand….

I was just looking over the list posted on the Data Slates page, and I noticed that Beads list has Daemon Princes of Tzeentch with Warp Bolters. From what I can tell only the Codex Chaos Space Marines Daemon Princes can take Warp Bolters

Heck Codex Thousand Sons and Codex Death Guard don’t even have entries for Warp Bolters as far as I can tell.

I have been having a lot of success with daemon princes. Not much more expensive then an exalted sorcerer and much better unit. I find two of them and with Magnus is fantastic. With the plus 4 to casting. Using infernal Gateway can be absolutely devastating. I’ve had several games getting 12 to 14 mortal wounds off with one power. As it hits every unit within 3 inches. Plus with the minus one to hit I feel that Magnus is still quite competitive.

Just something to note about Beards list – The Daemon Princes can’t take Warp Bolters, due to it being an Index choice, and the Daemon Prince of Tzeentch doesn’t have an index datasheet to draw it from. Battlescribe has it wrong in this instance :/
Also, Daemon Princes of Tzeentch get 2 powers + smite Beard! so you can load up on extra powers! 🙂

All these people calling Tzaangors goats….. They are more like birds, BIRDS people…. You know, like Tzeentch’s Lords of Change aka. Big Birds

Gentlemen, thank you again for doing this analysis on my list. I’d never really looked at Daemon Princes before (dunno why) and based on your suggestions, I’ve basically reformed my list to follow the Spiders, except I have indeed dropped the Levi and taken full squads of Rubrics. Should have all the models bought next month. Can’t wait to use the army!
Thanks again, both of you!

Mr Beard got publicly reprimanded by the boss for not wearing his T-shirt! Harsh! ? I have literally just started my thousand sons army, am going for something with rubrics (love them and have to have them!!), a fair few sorcerer’s (and Ahriman of course), 2 heldrakes as distractions/early charges etc, and lots of Daemon engines, maulerfiends charging forward, forgefiends firing at long range etc. As if the sorcerer’s had created there own protection by binding the daemons…? Maybe some good opportunities for tzeentchy conversions? Have no idea if it will be any good, but I think it will look… Read more »

Love me some T-sons too and glad to gear they’ve finally got some teeth ?! Think they’ll be the next army I go for but want some Vortex Beasts! Anyone had a look at them yet?

Very cool to see your guys heads going where mine is. I’ve recently finished my tsons army. I’ve managed to squeeze in 10 full powered smites in the list with all buffing powers and the other mortal wound powers. Over the last 4 games its averaged 34 mortal wounds a turn. Its causing a lot of elite armies some major problems. I’ve got a small question though. There’s a tzeentch stratagem from the daemons codex Locus of Conjuration (2CP): Pick a Tzeentch Daemon character at the beginning of any Psychic phase; all friendly Tzeentch daemon units within 6″ can reroll… Read more »
