Great analysis! Spider, just thought I’d make a little point about your comparison between auto boltrifles and boltrifles… It missed out the aggressor synergy, which means your team can advance every turn without penalty. So your average move is 9.5″, and you’re firing two kraken rounds out to 30″ with -1AP. So your double-shot autoboltrifles unlock a big increase in movement in a team that almost certainly won’t have a vehicle, and they now have a double-tap threat range of 39.5″. It also makes them much better objective-grabbers. Not bad for +5pts for the team. I reckon that auto boltrifles… Read more »

I ran a 300pt Fortis team the other night. Ran into a Cawl’s Wrath Castellan!. They were evaporated in one round of shooting. Meanwhile my vets with shields were a pain in the butt all game long. I’m now tending towards running bare bones intercessor squads in one batallion, and souping up my Vets in the other. Back to their roots: Intercessors are first and foremost objective takers, and with SIA become un-ignorable. I’ve tried 5 gravis/5 intercessor squads and the T5 is a nice touch. But the amount of heavies now entering the game is having a big effect… Read more »

Sorry I meant Vengeance.. it will cost 6″ but you still have a 30″ AP-3 shot.

I think vets are great but for 2pts per model i think people underestimate that extra wound… getting through 10 wounds before i lose a plasma is gold.

My stalkers generally survive well. They are camped in cover and shooting 30-42″ inches depending on their target…

Update: I just played a list ‘Similar’ to Beard’s (as i have no flamer aggros and need 15 more hellblasters for Spider’s list…). I used standard bolter aggros and squeezed in my fist guy as second captain 6 kill teams. 3 of each type and 2 dreads. I just slaughtered a DeathGuard army down to 2 models losing only 1 full kill team and 2 dreads… killed 3 bloat drones. 2 blight haulers. A daemon prince. Typhus. A sorcerer.3 termies. A termie lord and 40 pox walkers…. (psychic scourge is a great power against poxwalkers at Ld4 and Null zone… Read more »

True. But with the inherrant -2AP you can either use Kraken for 42″ range -2AP or have the standard -2AP with hellfire to wound on 2+… or sacrifice 6″ with veneance rounds to get AP-3 at 30″.

Shooting at Daemon princes or other High T beasties with hit on 3s rerolling ones with a cpt bubble. Then wound on 2s with reroll 1s with the right mission tactic… they’re pretty dope.

Any love for a 5 auto bolt rifle, 4 plasma interceptor and a boltstorm aggressor kill team. Costly, but an in godly amount of plasma death which is very hard to tie down?

Some people I’ve been talking to use the Leviathan Dreadnought and Teleport it to protect it.

20:20 ->> HOW DARE YOU LAWRENCE. Primaris are cool and good front line troops but for me they are lab rats ! It’s like seeing a Chapter master being Primaris – Heresy ! Too early, need another 500 yrs of fluff to be credible

Hey guys. Just to clarify my comment about ‘maximising Fortis Kill Teams’ (yes this is the Primaris Kill Team).

Imeant making the most of troop choices and the benefit of SIA… ‘spamming’ Primaris bodies and not sinking points into the more expensive elite options and armour etc….

As i watch, first thing is that as i understand it Fortis Kill Team refers to a Primaris based kill team, not the tactics used with it. I may be wrong though.. Have found the list on the forum and quite like it. Been trying to do a similar thing with a pure Primaris Deathwatch army with 2 battalions. Main issue i have is anti-tank

Anyway i’ll see what i learn as i watch this 🙂

What about Codex: Khorne Daemonkin and Codex: Crimson Slaughter?

Did GW Squat all non-Legion Chaos armies from 7th and is just doing Heresy 2.0 these days?
