Bone as a cherub wearing a purple toga, saying “IT’S CONTROVERSIAL!”

Growing pains B-bone! Keep your head in it, you’ll get a hang of the Aeldari! I personally have started playing some eldar since I was looking for something more exotic in terms of playstyle from the ‘marine’ type of armies – I do not regret it. They are a lot of fun, capitalizing on the synergies is crucial. Between their psychic phase, their stratagems and their units – the eldar provide a ton of different plays and tricks. And this batrep goes to show, that even an experienced and well versed player like B-bone can struggle in the first battles… Read more »

Please make the cherub Bone T-shirt happen, it’s the correct life choice.

Couldn’t we make Bone a Kommando type? He can be pretty devious…

Love your work gentlemen!

Rather than comment on this game in particular, I just want to say what a great channel you run, how fun it is to watch you chaps having a grand old time of it, and what good value On Demand is.

Anyway, as you were.

Love seeing B-Bone playing Eldar, everything that brings more variation into the Bonecame is great by me! Any chance we’ll ever be seeing units like Fire Prisms, Shining Spears or (gods forbid?) Dark Reapers mixed in somehow? I know the current army is based of Lawrences’ prefered Ulthwe build, but it would be very interesting to see units so often featured in the tourne scene somehow represented on TT. Heck there seems to be a lot of rumbling about running Avatars in Eldar builds on the other side of the Pond. Would love to see more varied Eldar builds –… Read more »

Great BR as ever guys, good to see the WE out again. Loving the flair dice rolling at the end Bone!

Hey, how did you guys paint the Khorne white. I know its prob just basic colors but i so much enjoy this color scheme over the GW sanctioned blood. I want to start World Eaters and prob going to build a nice heavy shooting aspect with a Renegade Knight or Kytan Ravager and two Helverins but the paint scheme is where its at. Thanks

I had the same problem wicomment image th the Juggerlord. I think they’re awesome and I had three in my KDK list in 7th. It’s a shame they aren’t that great in 8th now.

If you’re thinking of using you’re juggerlord as a daemon prince in the future, I’ve converted mine into daemon princes by magnetising some vargheist wings on them and now they look even cooler!

I do love your battle reports but I have some constructive criticism this time. 1 the spider needs to roll his dicte so that we can see the results i e not from ten feet up so that they fly all over the table or land in a pile of other dice. 2 as a craftworld player i want to learn from the vods. If Bone has to play them then the spider should give more advice. The serpents could have shot their shields again for 1 cp for example. The psychers also needed to be used in round one… Read more »

Benjamin! great work! Here are some pointers in terms of tactics that you could have implemented 1) shouldn’t have split your forces. Napoleon baited opponents into doing that. When Lawrence saw that he got an unforced Napoleon for free – you split forces – and since he knew he was out numbered and out gunned he knew if he baited you with the object hunting rhino he could flatten his right flank (your left). even as it was you basically WON the left flank anyway (fought to a stale mate) imagine how that would have gone with 2 wave serpents,… Read more »

I’ve never seen Orks on the channel, maybe some Orks coming in Orktober? Killa Kans, mechanobs, morkanauts (or gorkanauts), and alla da boyz n’ nobz.

As a recommendation while using Eldar, you cannot not have your Main Psyker on the table for two turns, you just cannot. Our powers are extremely powerful, and 24″ is more than enough to be protected, and still cast the powers you need. Could have helped with that 2nd turn, although really, releasing the shield, spending a CP and getting another 1… that’s just plain bad luck

Great game guys! I couldn’t believe it kept going till turn 7!
Thanks for the great quality!

1:45:00 Bone why did you left the Windriders so close to enemy lines? They can move a bizzillion, and you left them there to be charged

1:24:00 Removing the Tree to attack the Serpent… that’s cheeky…

Benjamin you didn’t fire your fire prisms second weapons all game, I think you said you upgraded them all to underslung canons too. This would have made a drastic difference I feel.

You guys should not roll for recovering CP’s after re-rolling the 1s results… It’s bad mojo

When you guys get the capacity to have guests on the show once more, I’d love to see this World Eaters army go up against or team up with the Eternal Slaughter from Deployment Zone/Moarhammer. (Black painted, heavily converted World Eaters warband if you haven’t seen them.) That would look amazing and make perfect narrative sense. In the ‘thing in place of the Kytan’s spot’ topic – I like the Kytan but obviously replacing it with a cheaper Knight is probably wise if you are going to do a direct replacement. I’d put in a suggestion for the double Thermal… Read more »

Hey. love your videos, but I have plenty of issues watching on-demand content. often the playback stops, or quality drops significantly. Especially when i stream it from my pc to tv (using chromecast). I do not have issues like that with youtube videos. Could you address that? perhaps if there was a download video option – that way i could download the video before i watch it…

Great battle report as always, love watching the World Eaters and ive only been playing mine a few months. A couple of pointers, firstly you NEED Powerfists on the champions, 8 str 10 attacks, wounding big stuff on 2’s with vets is brutal for 12pts, also the added advantage of extra wounds to get through unlike a character. I know you’ve said before about chainswords so i wont go there, maybe it will change once the codex drops. Also buying extra combi bolters for your rhinos is mandatory in my eyes too, 2pts for an extra 4 shots in most… Read more »

I am bringing to NR7 two heldrakes (ugh) and 6 obliterators with my world eaters to take some pressure away from my berserkers running up the board in rhinos…I think this reflects your point of having some threats that aren’t berserkers on the board. Hoping it works!

Rene
Rene

Have you played a match with the Kaftan against Knights how does he perform against his “siblings” ?
Maybe because of all the Knight spam in lists today the Kaftan is still a good choice to get rid of the big stuff to free your berserkers from being shot to pieces while trying to get in combat!
Always like your battle-reps 🙂 keep on going!

P.S.: when do we see the narrative campaign being continued here on demand?

Austin Martin
Austin Martin

Does Eldrad not have a 3++? I could have sworn I’ve seen him take some wounds after failing a 4++?
Regardless, good game as always! I don’t know why people say the Kytan is bad… seems like his cannon is pretty good to me!

Keep it up fellas!

…I’m also pretty sure BBone is the most unlucky person ever 🙁 lol

Marcello Genovese

Bring 3 defilers for world eaters. They cost less then the kytan, do the same roll but have 42 wounds. With a dark apostle and exalted champion demon engines are actually very strong. Also consider a Deredeo with butcher canon array and greater havoc launchers, they are a better version of the auto canon helverin.

Aldo Zetterman
Aldo Zetterman

Bad break there Bone! Seemed like you in almost every instance rolled worse than average. Also not having Eldrad on the board from turn one probably punished you in the end. Eldar is definitely a different flavour of shooting than Tau! Hats off to the Spider also who managed to keep up the pressure throughout the whole game, exploiting Bone’s bad luck – a well deserved win!

You play forests the same as my group does. It just makes sense.

ststacey1971

Brass Scorpion in place of Kytan. It has speed and big charge threat range and has the duality of nasty fire and melee output.

It takes all the attention of the ‘zerkers because it’s naaty and in your face quickly.

I’ve been terrorizing my opponent’s with it.

Also enjoying the quickness and melee output of blood slaughters and it’s a better investment of the points than on a Hell drake.

I am so sorry Bone, that “cherub” passage had me laughing to tears :-)… BBC time ;-). Its that humour I miss the most living in France. Very interesting game, and very good to see how “it is not the list, but the player that makes the game”. T-shirt ideas: the whole team as an Inquisitor retinue (Bone; cherub, Spider; the Inquisitor, Stig; tech-priest etc) the whole team as servo-skulls Battle report ideas: mono-dex : Daemons. (How would you do a mono Khorne or Slaanesh? As I am old school, daemons do not play together 😉 ). Necrons, Orcs, Gene-stealer… Read more »

That was great! Thank you for playing World Eaters properly this time. It warms my cockles.
My suggestion is to run 3 Contemptors with double fists / chainfists and soulburners. They can move 9″, do a potential 6 mortal wounds a turn and are absolute beasts in combat because they get the Legion trait. They also heal wounds when they kill things! You can get the plastic ones on eBay pretty cheaply btw

Matt Wallis
Matt Wallis

Bone – you had doom on the Khytan so that roll of a 1 for the witchblade was rerollable 🙁

Also, it seems kind of fruitless, but treating the d3 damage of the Khytan like mortal wounds when rolling your Ulthwe saves is not doing them any favors – especially when 1 guardian can eat one of those damage 3 rolls.

There is a chaos god that fits that description Bone. According to Blood Bowl lore, it’s name is Nuffle.

Hello from the Cotswolds! Another amazing battle report. Thanks guys! Ulthwe is my army so always love to see them on the channel. Definitely getting stronger and stronger with them Bone / Cherub! If I was using the same list (I love Wraithguard!) I’d probably have used the Eldar speed to keep Khorne at distance an extra turn if possible and maybe shield the Wraithguard with a wounded Serpent or something and bring them out a turn later maybe. Could have blocked that gap maybe. Also think I’d have got the psychic pain train rolling sooner perhaps as it’s a… Read more »

Guys, please run that Kharn model as Kharn! He is such a beast, he needs to be let loose!!

I feel this is a good spot for armiger warglaives. They are similar points to the hellbrutes, but have 4 more wounds each, get the ion shields, and are much faster. The thermal spears are fairly comparable to twin lascannons as they average 2 shots with decent range. Their combat output is pretty good too.

So perhaps swap the kytan and hellbrutes for a cruisader and 3 warglaives. Gives you similar firepower, more speed, a lot more wounds, and costs less points.

Ztengah
Ztengah

Am I missing something, or are the helbrutes equipped with twin-las, power scourges AND combi-bolters? How is that possible?

Luke Grant

The best thing about this whole battle report is Lawrence reliving the cherub moment.

Just starting to watch the bat rep guys and I’m loving the pre-game discussion; almost exactly the internal discussion going through my head when list building.

For additions to the World Eaters, what about renegade warglaives? I play primaris ultras but I love the added fast support warglaives give. The opponent has to deal with them, and they can advance and shoot. They would be a nice addition and you’d have some points left over.

P.s. if you’ve any idea on how to squeeze a fellblade at 951pts in to a 2k list let me know…..I need to use mine ?

Fantastic game guys! Love seeing my beloved World Eaters do well, and I learn something every time I see them which I’m very grateful for! What are your guys thoughts on Decimators? They do very well in my lists and I think they are quite points efficient.

Phil Stein
Phil Stein

Well, I’m not saying I’ve changed my mind on the Khytan not being worth bringing… But, Spider, you did redeem it a bit, albeit mostly through Bone’s lack of turn 1 firepower directed at it. I’m building a World Eater’s army for next year, and my long-range DANGER DANGER units are going to be a Renegade Knight with two battle cannons, and two Renegade Helverins for lots of long-range firepower that has to be dealt with. What you did do, however, was persuade me that instead of running two Winged Daemon Princes as HQs, I definitely need to drop one,… Read more »

You said that Helbrutes aren’t the best option, and I think that they might not be in a mobile list like World Eaters, but I have found them to be Excellent at protecting gun lines / Tank lines.
The power scourge give them a lot of attacks at high strength, so you can usually hurt things that get into your lines pretty well.

Love the close up on the pile in and consolidate moves. Seems to be an area with some of the most confusion in 8th

Chris Hughes

For World Eaters…Kaytan could be replaced with 2 or 3 Blood Slaugtherers maybe? 10″ base 16″ advance move, 9 attacks str 10/-3/3, T7, also very fluffy. Or a couple of Decimators (soulburner is 2D3 hitsmortal wounds). Or go crazy with 2x Stormeagles for firepower and troop delivery + rhinos. Getting FW heavy then though….
