Wow! Can Stig please make a video about how he does those bases? Or if there is one can I get a link? Those are really fantastic!

Really awsome Tactica you did there, thanks for that! As a Tyranids player I was wondering, if there is a chance, that there will be a Tactica including Tyrandis in near future?

Cheers

That AdMech list was a list after my own heart. So epic, great game as always fellas! Ironstriders/Dragoons look great in large numbers, real menacing.

Loved to see a Tactica game in which one player didnt just blow the other off the table turn one, haha. Seems like you’re defintely improving your list MR Bone!

Things to note though; WHW boards are notoriously bad at having LOS blocking terrain, coupled with that in order to qualify, you have to win games, doesn’t matter if its by one point or with a million. This could mean that the gunline might be better for that event (though probably not more fun)

HAYAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH – The sound of BBone summoning yet another horrific dice roll haha.

As always, you guys are the best and I love the batreps you put out. I’ve been really enjoying all the tactica games lately as well! One question, I’m pretty sure that helverines suffer the -1 to hit with the heavy stubbers.. the autocannon states that it doesn’t suffer the -1 but the helverine itself doesn’t have the rule, so therefore the heavy stubbers should have a -1, as I see it. But I know you guys play tournaments and such so I’m wondering what I’m missing as you guys have always played it without suffering the -1 on the… Read more »

What a nail biter of a game! Loved it and it’s a shame Bone’s last charge failed cause that would’ve been beyond epic although, those rangers were heroes so they probably would’ve survived anyway 😛
Gratz to Stig for bringing it home and wish you both best of luck at the upcoming tournament ^_^

Stig, why you gotta hate on Dark Angels?

Hey Bone those Y’vahra look awesome! Are they what you keep calling a Y-tide? I might have to get 1 or 2! Do people usually not like playing against them because of Forgeworld?

Really enjoyable game chaps. It’s always a good time when games are as close as that!

Guys, explain something to me. Why do Tau players seem to hate their Fire Warriors?

Great game. Really like this play style bone. I actually agree with you about ytides and their points. People see them kill stuff and think that they’re op but bearing in mind that you pay a minimum of 500 ( 419 and 8 shield drones), I just don’t think they’re even close to what you can get in other armies.

Great Tactica – Just came back from BattleUX/Warmasters 3 with Tau which was great! but feel the same Bone. Most of the time going second due to drops, having the opponent already taking 3-4 objectives in an objective heavy format, and not having the manoeuvrability to counter punch in the objective game. Really did feel like I was always on the back foot so to speak!

See you at heat 3 ! I hope this isn’t classed as cheating as I see your lists o.0.
Those dice you advertised at TTT, well I have ordered some on Friday and praying to god they arrive to use them against you! Muhaha (Evil face).

Forgive me for being ignorant, why do you call Y’vahra’s Y-tides?

General comment on saviour protocols as a musing… Its “on a 2+ you MAY take the wound on a drone … blah blah”. AKA You don’t have to. So when something takes wounds you might pass off, just roll them all for saviour protocols, the 1s then have to be taken on the original target (so you can roll those straight away and know how many wounds you have already lost) and then you can choose what to do with the rest on a 1 by 1 basis because you ‘may’ pass them to a drone (or roll as many… Read more »

Great game! Nice to see something other than tau sept.
You should really consider using Farsight and crisis suits with full CIB and a drone controller. Take five of them and 10 marker drones. It gives you a total of 42 strength 8 shots d3 damage hitting on 2 re-rolling ones. On top of that drop a commander down next to them to make them reroll wounds. Effectively kills every unit in the game.

Cool Game!
From a tactical perspective tho , I think it would have been better if @benjaminbonar:disqus had gone for the chickens first, instead of the knight. They are a much softer target while providing much more offensive punch, imo. The knight was a big distraction carnifex in this list and with the LOS blocking terrain, you might have outmanoeuvered him to mitigate his punch.

Great game lads – not through it yet but good to see those T’au carbonizers back on board and strong list Stig. By the way @Stig : I love you mate, and I know that you want the best rolls, but know your maths! At 32’37 on the first endless fury shots, you roll 11 dices for wounds, on 5 & 6s, so 33% chance. You get 4 wounds, so 36%, and still “not wonderfull at all” -> bang on the average ;). I tell you this because it comes often and it’s ok 🙂 EDIT : 46’48 -> now… Read more »

Another great vid. I’m playing in Heat 4 but live somewhere weird so my only practice is watching these battle reports and hoping for greatness by osmosis.

Don’t Dragoons roll to explode when each model dies?

Tau won plenty of tournaments recently. In the US notably the Harvester of Souls in September (70 Person?) as well as the Midwest Conquest GT and the Triumph GT in NJ a month or two before that (the former around 80 Persons at least) More recently they won the Portal annual GT just on December 1st and the German GT south in mid November, also both 50+ people events. And of course tons and tons of smaller tournaments won by Tau. They obviously also won the last No Retreat, though I can see this being “discounted” as that format doesn’t… Read more »

Really enjoyed that game and Ben, you played the tau how I would play them. Don’t be fooled by the tau should be in hand to hand narrative. Hand to hand is vital the tau army working in this style in my opinion. If you had charged the fire warriors in the previous turn you would have shut down the rangers and held Stig’s objective as well as having line breaker. But moving forward and having board control makes a big difference which this battle showed and even though you lost all your alpha units you were still in the… Read more »

B-Bone in the beginning you where passing off shots from the armigers to drones where you had a 2+ save, If you want you can do these one at a time, use the reroll for the first time you fail a save and then put the rest on the drones. The same with the shots from the knights, you missed the first saviour protocol, you could have passed the second shot then off to the drone. In friendly play I would not bother rolling it one by one, but for tournament … why not 🙂 And awesome game bye the… Read more »

The B-Bone takes command of the Tau once again and is up against our tame Wargamer
Some say he goes into hibernation over the Christmas holidays
And that last weekend he received a million dollars for judging a boxing match in California
All we know is… he’s called The Stig

TTTTime!! Can’t wait it’s been a long time since we have seen th admech. Had to edit, finally Bone the y tides ?? incredibly unlucky with the ytides. Also stig shouldn’t have rolled 1 of the fnp earlier it was a mortal wound. If 1 of the fnp was that wound, that would’ve meant the 2 ytide guns could’ve gone into the dragoons. Mate your luck after turn 1 I felt bad for you. Ever since that overwatch your luck died. Triggered so hard sammael best character.
