Gawd, Beard and Bone battle reports are hilarious fun to watch! Keep up the good work! 😀

Great bat rep, was funny and enjoyable.

A note on the Scions that I’ve not seen mentioned in the comments. You need a vox caster in the squad next to the prime and in the squad you are ordering. They need to be able to hear the radio. I don’t remember you saying you had a vox caster in any other squads.

Bone my man… unmodified of a 6 does mean its always on a 6 regardless of mods i believe dude

Beard accidentally hit on the dice gods teenage daughter at a bar… and he found out!

FYI – Termagant fleshborers are S4 so you’d be wounding on 3s against the Guardsman (and 2s with scorchbugs).

The Swarmlord forgot to do his tail attack.

The Tervigon/Tyrannofex never made Stinger Salvo attacks (4 str5 shots)

The Leviathan chapter tactic only triggers if you’re within 6” of a synapse creature – not simply being within synapse.

Guys, yet again I died of laughter. This was a sweet demonstration of how swarms can dominate on the new scenarios, excellent game!

B-bone you really shouldn’t cuddle with Beard that much! it is clear he is just using you and rubbing off his bad luck on you lol xD

wallisa2011

Does onslaught let you advance and shoot with your hive guard because that seems like it would have been really useful this game

Those Tyranids are so beautifully painted… the scheme looks good from far away, and from 3′ away, and when you get close and notice all the detail layered work on the carapace, drool and eyes… WOW. I also have to applaud the ominous paint scheme of the Scions + Knight… I love how the Taurox look along with the Knight! It’s clean and simple and really tells the whole story behind the Knight and Co. from the narrative campaigns, just by looking at the army! Great stuff! Can’t wait to make it past the opening (I keep pausing to look… Read more »

I think you guys might be playing the insane bravery stratgem wrong. I hear you guys comment all the time after rolling a failed moral you won’t pay the CP now to keep them alive, however page 242 of the BRB states you must pay the CP before the roll.

Whenever I hear bone say this should be enough to kill x or statistically this should die I know what’s about to happen hahahaha

i loved the BR. Here’s some specific feedback:
– Beard’s list was too competitive with termagaunt/tyrannofex spam
– Bone didn’t play as good as he normally does with a critical error of not going for the SwarmLord (he did acknowledge this), compounded with his diabolical dice rolling it really did lead to “WTF IS HE DOING” moment on Bone’s turns. His banter and good nature made it fun and exciting though
– The new missions you are showing are great and the commentary on understanding their mechanics was clear and concise
Thanks and keep it up!. Regards, Your GIF god, on demand Boss, Tom

Bone! You completely forgot about old grudges at some point with Slade, you could have re-rolled some key wounds there friend, and maybe saved yourself some aggravation…

PS – Believe it would have worked in overwatch too sir!

Max Tulldahl

Moar nids! Love it! However, a coule of notes for the newly inducted Hive Commander Beard; As said before, you only get the leviathan saves if you are within 6″ of a synapse creature, not in synapse, no matter how far your synapse stretches, this encourages more synapse in Leviathan, Zoanthropes are good at this, and even a few minimum size warrior sqauds. Perhaps even a broodlord or 2 since Chapter Approved. Fleshborers are S4 making scorch bugs wound those pesky frail humans on 2’s, and termagants can reroll 1’s to wound when they are 20+ in a unit, even… Read more »

I play Scions and although I started off with missile launchers on my taurox I switched to half missile with auto cannon and half gatling cannon with volley gun to help deal with hoards as I feel that’s where Scions struggle the most. The metas going so hoard based lately that I’m looking at switching out all of my missiles for gatling now. 20 shots at st4 6’s exploding is pretty tasty.

I’m so happy Chaos Lord Beard has finally emerged victorious!!!

If the other knight is The Ferryman shouldn’t knight 7 be named Styx? just saying.

Scott Andrews

Just a heads up Biomass Beard. The leviathan trait is a FNP if you are within 6” of a friendly synapse unit; not if you are within synapse.

Linus Eklund
Linus Eklund

Why didnt you re-roll wounds in overwatch and fight phase with old grudges against the swarmlord? 😉

ThePsychopath
ThePsychopath

I believe by “Unmodified” it refers to a natural roll of a 6, ignoring the any +’s or -‘s, so if the Dice Roll is a 6, it explodes, regardless of the end result, similar to a Critical Result for D&D, it’s on an unmodified roll of a 1 or a 20.

May be wrong, but that’s just how I interpreted it! Great battle rep!

Nikko Villaruz
Nikko Villaruz

Beard played that really well for only his second time with the bugs! But remember Leviathan saves are only for units within 6 of synapse and fleshborers are strength 4 🙂

Call Knight number 7 Cerebus, the guard dog of Hell.

After CA and the new formation in Vigilus Defiant please look at adding some Valkyries for the Scions. They have so much potential and are cheaper now, but also THEY ARE SO COOL!

Marcello Genovese
Marcello Genovese

Oh and BTW flesh borers are s4 not 3 and the scions doctrine is only for rapid fire weapons at half. So no tank guns. Oh and please use a different relic on a knight if you use one, literally everyone takes endless fury, I actually think all the others are quite good as well, seems boring not to try them.

Awesome game as usual from you two lol. The banter and improv off each other is priceless. You guys are great! Thanks for the laughs!

Are you Bone aware that running any Knights in an Auxiliary Super Heavy detachment does give it a Household (eg. Taranis) so you can give him the Taranis specific Fury of Mars relic etc, but it DOES NOT get a Household Tradition (6+ FNP)?

This is said in the Might of the Knight Worlds page. It explicitly excludes Aux detachments. You loose the Knight Lances and Household Traditions special rules if you do not run a Super-Heavy Detachment.

Those tyranids look awesome. A proper swarm charging across the table. I love it 🙂

Why has it took me so long to realise that Terry the tervigon is the same initials as table top tactics (big reveal morty Tabletop tactics is the illuminati )

Those nid terrain pieces are wicked, where’d you get them?.although, I can’t help thinking they’d look even cooler if they were painted like Myrmidon

GerManticore
GerManticore

Knights in a Super-Heavy Auxiliary Detachment don’t get a Household Tradition (e.g. the Taranis 6+++).

You need a Super Heavy Detachment (3 Knights minimum) to actually get the benefits of the tradition.

Great batrep! Tough luck there Bone, just means you need to go back to the Brotherhood of the Wolf when it comes to Imperium haha

Hey guys noticed you forgot Adaptive Biology for a ton multi damage weapons it could have made a difference, also Fleshborers wound scions on 3+ they are S4 other than that really fun bat rep. ?

Thomas Andreae

Hey guys! You forgot Terry’s Adaptive Biology Warlord Trait that lets her -1 to all damage she receives! Also she had the Norn Crown, making her synapse range 30″. Anyways, loved the content! You guys are great

Bone – Think the Tempestus Relic needs a dice roll to pass the second Order, on a 1 the Order fails as the Reliquary contradicts the officer and confuses everyone. *edited* you caught this T2 – well played sir! That’ll teach me for commenting before finishing the game ? The Vox also needs the target unit to have a Vox. Just having 1 Vox doesn’t work, you need a Vox within 3” of the Officer, and the target unit within 18” also needs a Vox to receive the communications. Endless Fury is unmodified 6’s to get additional hits. I think… Read more »

So glad to see Tempestus on the channel! Having played pure Tempestus for a while in 7th and 8th edition it is so cool!

Also I think you could have misplayed the vox caster.. you get the extended range if both units have a vox caster not if just one unit has a vox.

I also think your warlord would’ve been able to do three orders (if you made the 2+ with the relic) as you gave him a command rod?

Gribbleard! He takes an army of Beardstealers, Flying Beard Tyrants and spams Beard Guard. He’s from Hive Fleet Byrdidon, which has toxin beard special rules for all troops. Terry and Trevor are his favourite spore buddies.

He dislikes close encounters and has never used a probe. Secretly enjoys movies featuring Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton, despite them both killing some of his extended family on screen. He actually does have one of those, and teases Will Smith about it to this day.
