Warhammer 40,000 Campaign Report: Ghostmaker Mission 5 – Betrayal

Avatar Tabletop Tactics December 31, 20188  29 8 Likes

With Inquisitor Malakai supposedly leading his forces off planet, the Thousand Sons launch a surprise attack on the Ulthwe forces. Knowing that the Inquisitor will not heed the call for re-inforcement, Isha and Aeon are forced to prepare a desperate defence… but will it be enough?

I’ve been watching these as they came out but with the new one i went back and have been watching them in order at work, 4 days into the week now and i have done 0 work, i love these campaign games. To have this AND cast of players which is my favorite content from you bosses made the week! can’t wait for the finale! great voice over for the scenes really adds to the battle reports, loved the mid battle meeting of the inquisitor and Karnek in mission 1. Sounds like these are some of your favorite content to… Read more »

It was good guys, it always is. However, this one feels a little rushed? Normally there’s a little more story, the odd dramatic moment when one of the characters charges in and takes a big risk. It’s kind of as if you’ve been rolling in too many battle reports/ tactica’s and your not in the head space to do the narrative reports. Which is a shame as its some of my favourite battle reports. Others have said that there was no way the eldar where ever going to win this one, which was a shame. there was a huge advantage… Read more »

Sirs, I have to say, I’ve just finished watching Betrayal, and I am absolutely in love with this narrative campaign. Thank you for bringing it to life, you are a true credits to the hobby. #Maythehobbybethewinner

This was some C.S. Goto level of Eldar slaughter… No chances, no hope…

PS. If only TS had multilasers… lol

@tabletoptactics:disqus , please take a minute and read what I about to say it is really important to me. I would like to give objective opinion. I might have lost something along the way but I hope you will understand the core of the problem. I have been here for at least 4 years and I’ve been supporting the On Demand youtube channel even before the website was a thing. I’ve seen the ginormous improvements you guys have made over the years and this narrative campaigns are THE PINNACLE of battle reports as they are. Enough preface. After all this… Read more »

I demand retribution on the mon-keigh scum!!

Woha… You are using some strong vocabulary there!
“The Inquisitor betrayed the Aeldari”
Are you seriously suggesting that members of the most holy ordo are failable? And furthermore: Can you even betray filthy Xenos scum? It would be like saying I betrayed the dirt on my boots and I don’t think that this is possible.
Please report to the next Commissar for ideological reajustment!!!

Really enjoy theses games guys, can really see the passion that you have coming through trying to keep characters alive and building new heroes through what they do!

Chaos or Xenos scum? Whoever wins, the scum lose 😛

For the next campaign…now Kill Team is out i hope you guys get creative and include it. A rescue mission inside an enemy prison, a webway heist or a dirty dozen style suicide mission to plant a bomb inside an infested tyranid ork space hulk before it reaches orbit would make for decent side missions and make the campaign feel even more epic!

I was just wondering whether they forgot about this campaign or not!!! In terms of content this is just pure quality. Keep it up!

Now for the scenario (and I am biased, always for the good guys lol), was it ever going to end differently? It was a bit “thanks for playing lawrence ?”
I mean one of the least mobile Eldari force stuck in their deployment zone, and even without spoiling the “little” thousands sons reinforcement it was already complicated.

Looking forward to the ending though and maybe a feathery bird? 🙂

Excellent stuff as always, guys – exciting battle and youknowwho is always good to see. …however… I have to say that the huge gaps between episodes are making it really hard for me to follow the narrative and get invested in these characters. I started watching this one then had to go back to the previous one to remind myself who was doing what and why. All your batreps are excellent standalone pieces, but these I think would benefit from a tighter release schedule. Not saying this is a simple thing to address and i know nothing about scheduling and… Read more »
