2k necrons can work.

I just don’t think they can work at 1750.

Hi chums, could I get a link to that Nid terrain, looks very boss

I am loving the new gribbly bio beard! But you are missing out on more gribbly goodness! I have painted the rim of the base of my genestealers with acid maw a very bright vibrant green to mark their acidic prowess (-3 ap). Then I can always keep them at the very front on munching as long as possible. But I love that paint scheme so you better check with Spider

Lawrence, thanks for taking the Necrons out and talking about them from a list building standpoint. Very cool to see! I love Necrons and I cant wait to see the upcoming Tactica with them that you mentioned! Keep up the great content

When the Destroyers pulled out of combat with the Broodlord should they have had a -1 to hit?

Teri-nids just saying 😉

That was a great betrep! I know Lawrence loves scarabs but is that because he thinks they’re a 5+ save? They would be great if they were, but sadly they’re only 6+.

I keep forgetting that you paint most of your own models… both of those armies look great!
I still miss the white ghosts, but damn, you boys can paint!

Just wanted to point out that when you put extermination protocols and talent for annihilation on the destroyers – you missed FIVE of your bonus shots but didn’t reroll them with extermination protocols 🙁

I must say I’m really enjoying the Beard vs Spider match ups recently. It’s always nice to see Lawrence in a more relaxed mood and I dont think I’ve ever not enjoyed a beard bat rep. I’m also really enjoying watching Beard using nids. I’m only half way through this as I’ve got to go to work but I’m really enjoying it.

Also, I’d like to vote that the ‘Whiff’ song the pair of you improvised recently becomes TT(T) cannon.

Hello TTT-Team (TTTT?), greetings from Switzerland. I subscribed one year ago and i never regretted. It’s my first post though and i would like to take the chance to thank you all for your great work for our hobby. I especially like to see Mr. Beard play as his morale is always up even if he plays against all odds (=Spider Luck), he is what i call a Player Gentleman! Thanks and sorry for the bad english!

I’m currently working on a quite controversial (as Lawrence would say) Necron list at 2000 points.
It’s a Brigade lead by an Overlord on Barge, a Cloakteck and a Lord (all bare-bones); 6 X 5 Tesla Immortals; 6 Destroyers and 2×4 Scarabs; 3 Triarch Stalkers with Gauss; 3 Doomsday Arks.
It brings a lot of firepower to the table, and can work either as Sauthek or Nephrek.
What do you think?

Another great batrep, cheers!

Did the Wraiths have the whipcoils that were on the models? you could have hit with the ones that died after Beards assault.

That game was very entertaining and those poor Doomsday Arcs… I’m not sure what to say xD

The Doomsday Arks look great but I get the same sinking feeling watching them as I do when I watch Beard play his Sisters with the Exorcists, or when I run my Redemptor Dreadnoughts with the Macro Plasma Incinerator; the D6 is just so swingy that you can’t rely on it. Still, the Doomsday Arks may still be useful to block out the backfield, clog up charging lanes, and simply put pressure on your opponent. And late game they can zip around and snatch objectives and be annoying if they haven’t been destroyed. I have always been a fan of… Read more »

I like the classic looking paint scheme on the Necrons! Great looking armies and table as always! (Also, that Tyranid terrain is BOSS… did you make that???)

Hi guys, thanks again for your amazing bat reps. I love Tyranids and I was wondering if you plan on expanding the hive fleet? If so, what do you think is missing? Have you thought about Exocrines or Toxicrenes?

At 1:06:00 when you fired the Destroyers you got 6 bonus shots. Were you not able to roll those 1’s and 2’s because of the same strats?

Lords reroll aura works in close combat and also applies to HQs there was a 1 to wound with sekhmet

How long does it take for you to dress a table? As they look boss

Doomsday arks are incredibly good but you need to make them sautekh and you should move them against this type of opponent. You basically wasted 4 turns of 20 guass flayers shots each or 240 shots lol. With 14 wounds and fly they don’t really need to worry about things like being tied up or mowed down, remember when they move they still fire like a battle canon. I also find two is the right number, I know you like to max things to 3 a lot but other options fit other jobs better. For example 3 heavy destroyers is… Read more »

I don’t see why you couldn’t pile in with the Death Frenzy strat. It lets you “…fight as if it were your fight phase” and fighting includes the whole step chain including the pile-ins. The Stratagem provides the exception to the usual requirement of 1″ or charging.

Speaking of Necrons murdering orks, when’s the studio ork army gonna show up?

DMvdH

I also mostly agree with other comments. I’ve been running three DDA’s (and basically the rest of your list minus wraiths) all last year and it’s too much, you’re too liable to whiff and when you dont use the gauss flayers you miss out on a lot of firepower. Sadly the S4 flayers dont really work against knights, if they’d go up in strength I’d take them back immediately. I’ve ditched mine because of this and gone for Doomscythes. A) the models don’t break in half all the time, B) the mortal wound strat is awesome for an army which… Read more »

Great game. Would love to see you take the Necrons for a spin as a different dynasty. I’m preparing a very similar list for a 1750 pt tournament, but running them as Sautekh. Mephrit is a bit of a trap dynasty imo, the -1 AP is nice, but it forces you to get closer than you’d like to the enemy.

For the next game, try running them as Sautekh and bring a Triarch Stalker along. The difference in consistency is night and day. Even then, your rolling was horrendous though.

34:40 the Hive Tyrant should have re-rolled the 1 due to Scything Talons ability

I dub the, Tyrone the Tyranofex,

AKA Tyrone-o-flex,

AKA T-Bone,

AKA tougher then 2 dollar steaks!

I hated to watch what those metal men did to Terry’s husband lol.

Sincerely, nice socks Mr. Beard. Also, much better than seeing Bones toenails.

45:40 you forgot to fire the Tervigon and Tyrannofex’s stinger salvo 4 S5 -1AP D1 each if the Tyrannofex stands still it gets another 4 shots too ?

Stuart Manks

at 1:06 you could have re rolled the missed extra shots……not that it mattered ????

And with the priority orders card can’t any unit achieve the objective you generate extra but you get a bonus if your warlord dose it?

Loving the Immortals Battalion. Had a very similar list (building my second army), but I’m going to be rocking an outrider of FW Tomb Sentinels deepstriking/burrowing making them more flexible and flat 3 dmg over D6 any day! Looking forward to watching this one ?

Do you guys hate Exocrines? Haha great game. I can’t wait to see the necron tactica. Any chance of a tyranid fleet based around old one eye and carnifex? I play one not the most competitive but its a lot of fun.

I have a model that has a super similar statline to those doomsday arks. twice the shots at twice the cost, im convinced my praetor armored assualt launcher model is the worst and most overcosted model in the game 350 points for 2d6 s8 d6 damage shots, wiffs every game just like those arks too! looks awesome though.
Ps. get some slippers, the last thing you need while facing impending doom is cold feet!

Akrabra (John Ivar)
Akrabra (John Ivar)

Meh, Doomsday Arks should be Heavy 3 on high profile and Heavy 6 on low profile and voila it is a viable choice. Can’t spend a CP every time you get a 1 on the die as Necrons have so many Interesting and powerful stratagems that are more important to use. I think Heavy Destroyers is our best heavy support choice. You get 3 for the cost of an Ark and its 3 guaranteed shots at str 9 -4 & D6 dmg. You can also move and ignore penalty and re-roll 1s innately plus my will be done because they… Read more »

huh, the wording for first strike in chap app is “if any of your enemy’s units are destroyed in the first battle round”, not just your first turn so Spider did get first strike actually bc he wiped the genestealers in combat during the first battle round… or am I missing something?

Simon Horrocks
Simon Horrocks

Been running 3 ddas at tourneys since the codex and heres my advice, and this is crucial 1- totally obnoxious placement required – as obnoxious high up as posible 2 – save one cp per rd to reroll shots 3 – you will actually find the flayer arrays often do more than the cannon. ALWAYS push ddas up from the backfield after turn 2, if you’ve wiffed for two turns keeping them back will never improve your situation, you really need those flayer arrays working for at least 3 turns to clear late game objectives. they are really strong. and… Read more »

1:06:11 the new shots from rolling 6’s on the destroyers would also be able to reroll to hit due to extermination protocols…the tyrant still died but you would have saved the CP reroll heh

Well we need a competative necron tactica game now

Martijn Poot

The new model syndrome was real! Really happy with the 3 doomsday arks though, it should be a decent AT squadron. I think you were making 5+ saves for the scarabs instead of 6+? I might have heard that wrong, I was painting at the time. And you forgot the lord’s aura ability a few times, but that’s all well and good, it’s been a while since you played the necrons. I really hope for some more test drives, and I’m really curious about how you would make 60 immortals work. To me it seems they rely a lot on… Read more »

51:40 actually beard could’ve re rolled the 1s if he declared scything talons as the weapons used (they’re free on genestealers so might as well), they’re a better option against things that don’t care about rend like the wraiths

Jesse Morgan
Jesse Morgan

When you were talking about the lists, you said that a dual battalion with 60 immortals would probably be the way to go. Would you have 2 crypteks, 2 lords, and 2 overlords to compensate for the doubling of immortals? And do you think the Doomsday Arks are top tier?

AINZ OAL GOWN
AINZ OAL GOWN

Sorry if this is a dumb question as i am still newish to 40k, but isnt the max tesla immortals you can take 30 due to the rule of 3 from one of the faq’s?

Emdee

The Doomsday Ark/Ghost Ark is THE most annoying model in the entire GW range to assemble. It looks amazing but I died a little inside for each of the 3 that I put together.

If anything, Beard is definitely Riddler. I’d say Joker, but pretty sure Bone’s Harlequin laugh secured him that role.

Lawrence, you should take the Nefritai to the LVO 😉
