I’m interested – where exactly does it state that the one that places objectives first also gets to pick deployment? I’m not doubting, just couldn’t find it and wanna be able to look it up!

Cheers, great content!

Really enjoying these tacticas, keep up with the amazing content! In my playing group we discussed some time ago about the matter of who and how choses the depoloyment. In the different missions it usually says that “whoever rolls highest determines which of the standard deployment maps is used in the battle (pg 216) and picks one of the deployment zones on the map for their army.” Now, the problem is that if you go to pg 216, at the top left, it says the following: “When playing matched play missions, you must randomly select one of these deployment maps.… Read more »

This lesson is just sooo important. After watching all the LVO streams, especially the finals, remember guys: the game is won on points. If you haven´t seen the LVO finals, do it, Brandon Grant basically applies DRAGON to win against a list specifically designed to beat his type of list. And he managed to do it, amongst other things, by outscoring his opponent. Having all these lessons in my head also help me learn more when watching batreps.
Keep up the good work TTTeam 😀

This is where I realize it would be great to have those parts in the Bat Reps!

A cool follow up series to this would be actual table examples on specific tactics and how to set yourself up for this. Like better charging and wrapping.

Awesome guys! As a fairly new tournament player I just tend to do what B-Bone said, which was to throw the objective markers down and get on with trying to table my opponent. I knew there was some tactical thinking with objectives but didn’t really know where to start.
I cannot wait to try this out I think it will really make a difference to my game. Thanks guys! ????

Hi, mister spider. Around the 16 minute mark you told us that it’s often a mistake to place the first objective in the middle of the board, primarily when an army isn’t active (enough) in the fight phase. Can you expand a little bit more on why you think this is a mistake, and on how you would deploy the objectives vs an assault based army when you’ve got to place the first objective? If you’d mirror deploy a cross deployment, you’d absolutely help the assault player make the cross deployment. If you cluster deploy, the assault player will likely… Read more »
