Great game! Sacea hit on 6 in overwatch 😉

Why does the video not remember where I left off when I come back to it? It used to, and I rarely get to watch a whole video in one sitting so having to try a remember where I’m at is annoying.

Bone, you could put ethereal on a hover drone to round yourself out to 2k and give him more mobility

forgive me if its all ready been said but with those spar 5 points why not back a seeker missile on a broadside ??

Haven’t watched yet but im very excited to see an ork tactica and a Tyranid tactica!

Interested to see Ben’s list plays out against Lawrence’s list, I think that will be your ‘Boogyman’ list, or anything with a lot of indirect fire for clearing the drones in 1 turn.

T’au army looks amazing Bone, and love the hazard suits ! Just make sure to remember that Control Node strat has to be used at the beginning of the phase 🙂

What a nasty game! Bone showing off the true brutality of the Tau. Glad to see our son of Grotti (he’s not a cherub people! he’s clearly a nurgling!) triumph. Best of luck to both of you in the LVO. One quick question disguised as a request: any chance we could see some Space Wolves back in action? It has been a long time since we’ve seen them.

Aaron Berezowski

Awesome game guys. I think bone will be fine against any knight list with that tau list. Tau are just so good at tearing down big models like that. well done and good luck mr Bone bring it in for the greater good.

Vincent Goede

B-Bone why didn’t you have your fireblades with your fire warriors for the volleyfire synergy, but tucked away behind the firsight marksmen? Any specific reasons? As it would have give loads more overwatch to plink a few more wounds off there.

What an awesome brutal game! Damn bone! that’s a hard tau list… If you don’t win LVO with this list, then its the fault of the dice! With the five points you could squeeze in one more marker light on a shas’ui and two pistols, (or a seeker missle) In my last game I came short 1 markerlight by turn 3 to get the full complement, but then i remembered the shas’ui had a spare markerlight, and bam! 5 marker lights! that big unclean one still doesn’t know what hit him. Also you got photon grenades, but maybe the one… Read more »

I ran that imperial soup with catachans and had to retire it. It was smashing everything.

Absolutely love watching you guys. Seriously best of luck at the LVO. Bone you’ve compiled a killer list and I hope it does you proud.

I’m sure you will answer this in the coming bat reps buuuut where are the genestealer cult as far as being possibly competitive?

ALSO, let’s see those Space Wolfies again big bone man!

4 6’s in a row for that explosion. The Spider can’t help but roll 6’s!

Is it just you two going tothe lvo? Any other army lists need the practice

Yann Head

Very interesting 😉 Question for the imperial soup, why don’t we see two Gallants and one Valiant? less points, a Gallant can turn one charge, they can both charge turn two and the Valiant has the best answer for hitting “-x to hit” units… the three models centre bord and rush forward…

Just FYI: For LVO practice, you should double check their terrain rules. The “magic boxes” buildings are supposed to be on every table and totally block line of sight to anything in them (and out of them) and it would be good for you to practice with them on the table – they make a huge difference if you aren’t expecting them. Especially here, having all of your drones completely hidden is really powerful.

Another great report, and congrats on the win Bone.

A quick note on timing, the C&C Node has to be done at the start of the shooting phase. Most times you were doing it well into the shooting phase. Wouldn’t want someone to call you on it at the LVO as its a huge buff to the broadsides.

Looking forward to hearing how you get on at the LVO !

As a Tau player I just wanted to say you did us proud Bone! Well played! The power of the Toga is real! Also with the five points you can add a seeker missile to one of your missile bois or put the ethereal on a hover drone if you’re willing to re-base it. The base is bigger yeah but the fly keyword I’ve found lets me manouvre around my castle much better!

Magnis
Magnis

Bone, really like this list. Don’t have a ton of experience with Tau, but this looks awesome.

Bring a chess clock so those horde armies don’t screw you on time!

Mike

I don’t understand why you brought your knight castellan or crusader in range of his guns. It seems like all you had to do was sit 48″ away and shoot him. He would have had to move further forward and you would probably have gotten a few more rounds of shooting in.

Jai Hensgen

Whoo! as a fellow australian tau player its so good to see such a flawless victory! Those Hazard Suits are definitely some of my FW favorites, so many shots!

You guys make this hobby and community so much more entertaining.

Bone will you be wearing the toga in your LVO victory coronation ceremony?

GrandRhino
GrandRhino

Don’t you still have to reroll your 4s to wound when useing both stratagems because the reroll happens before the modification?

Icarus
Icarus

I’d say T’au are actually just behind Orks, if you consider single codex armies (but funnily enough, just win against orks)

Icarus
Icarus

Why did Bone roll one more dice (twice!) to see how much damage his Broadsides would have ignored?
Is that a rule I am missing? Because a Broadside would have been killed otherwise…

Mike Rainbow

Awesome battle report guys, and well done B-Bone that’s a great list… I think The Castellan is kind of wasted on that list and one of the reasons why I dropped the heavy knights from my own lists. Having shield drones or lots of models does kind of nerfs Castellans imho, I have gone for 2 crusaders and 1 Warden (Warden for duality). Also having just a loyal 32 is not great for board control or sitting on objectives as I have found they die too easily. I’d personally gone for a battalion of Admech (cheaper) and made them Stygies… Read more »

I really want Bone to win the LVO while wearing his toga. Tales of such a thing would be told for decades to come 😀

Really looking forward to adding a Nexos and a Mass Hypnosis/Mind Control Magus from the Cult of the Four Armed Emperor to my Tyranid army!
60 Genestealers + 6 Hive Guard + CP farm + 3 CP Agents of Vect? Yes please!
What were you considering for the upcoming Tyranid Tactica?

Alex Volkov
Alex Volkov

At 44:00: I believe since you had only 1 drone left, you had to roll it one at a time, because you could have passed the first hit unto a drone and then failed its FnP, so the last drone from the unit would die and you couldn’t pass any further hits. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Also, I love when Bone plays his Tau. I’d really like to see some Tau vs Orks some time.

Love the little run of ITC missions you guys are playing! Down here in Aus it’s the most common way tournament’s play so it’s great to see some of it here!

Joe Kerr-Delworth

Interesting game guys! Couple of thoughts from me though for Bone. Titan Slayers is for every 8 wounds. Wouldn’t have mattered overall, but meant that that Bone got the 4th point on turn 2, rather than turn 1. 2nd turn with the Hazard suits. I’d personally have opted to drop them in behind the backfield Guard units, or to the side of the unit holding the non-mission objective. This would have allowed you to match kills (maybe even win on kills if behind the lines) and/or allow you to win on objective holding. If you had wiffed on turn 2… Read more »

Great batrep as always – just wondering if there are any plans on bringing the orks back on the channel anytime soon? Only 2 batreps since the codex dropped I think? Would be great to have them on for a in depth tactica or a codex/list walkthrough!

Thanks for the great content!

EDIT: Missed the part when you guys said the orks are coming. Oops 🙂

B-Bone! Great list – just remember when you’re mixing septs the overwatch/etc is different. Your marksman should have been hitting on 6’s in O/W against the Gallant during the last turn, not 5’s. May not have mattered, but it’s important to keep track of.

Amazing, I loved this game. Yes it was quick but it highlighted how much has changed in the last 6 months. I asked my friends before the game which they thought would win. Every single one of them said the imperium. I said it doesnt have the bodies or the rof to deal with the drones. Missing the triple crusader/dawn eagles here. That being said great job Bone and good luck to both of you at the lvo. Come on Ttt. I know you have already filmed but why not chaos?

Its funny because i thought the hazard suits were valid a year ago. What is the point difference between chapter approved 2018 vs CA 2017?

Would you take either of these lists to a maelstrom tournement?

FrankyMcShanky .
FrankyMcShanky .

I strongly agree with the Spider on two points.

– Fire Warriors are amazing for their points and massively underrated by Tau players… or at least the internet.
– Tau are legit the sleeper winners of CA 2018

Need to take a shower after seeing those 2 lists, utter filth! – great bat rep though its one thing reading about these list its another to actually see them in action and how they work. Dirty!

I had faith in you Bone. I knew you could do it. In the process of assembling my own Tau list. Looking forward to seeing if the Hazard suits are worth the £35/model price tag and the points.

Nasty Tau list!

Knights are a gatekeeper army this year, so no worries if you were to play your list against Kinghts on here, I for one am always down to see how different armies deal with the “boogeyman” lists!

This is but bone’s first step to becoming the best Tau player.
Good luck at the LVO guys, will try and watch the stream and see how you are getting on. ?

Just wanted to point out, Prepared Positions happens at the start of the first battle round, but before the first turn begins. As it is still part of battle round 1, you cannot generate additional Command Points for that Battle Round. Cheers!

I think LVO might as well just hand you the trophy now B-Bone. That was an amazing game, nicely done sir!
