Love the Drukhari as always

Lawrence you describing the haemonculus is part of how I wrote the fluff for my Drukhari! The Haemonculus Dryx Cyllar, leader of the Symbiosis of the Wanting Lash, is one of the progenitors of the creation of the Scourge bio-modification, and so he has access to enormous amounts of Scourge troops when he conducts his raids. Deliciously cruel and disturbing stuff I think 😉

Trying out Raider/full squad/double shredder. Expecting to die, but screaming jets 2 of these in to 12” seems like a hell of a fun way to go.

On the discussion of spamming one kind of unit.. I have to agree with the commenter a little bit. Some redundancy is nice, but too much is.. redundant. From a fun batrep pov, it’s kinda boring to see a bunch of transports with imaginary units that we never see inside.

I’d love to see your take on an Obsidian Rose list, I think their +6 range ability is incredibly good, but incredibly looked over. The potential for 20-man units shooting if they break morale is cool, if rarely applicable.

Great report as always, love your work guys!
I always have one of your reports on whenever I’m working on my hobby!
I’m actually working on a pure Wych Cult force for a 1500 point tournament in London next month!
Lawrence, would be pretty cool to see your take on what a pure Wych Cult list would look like once you have the models! – Cheers, JD

Fun game, funny how both armies were flailing innefectually at each other for most of the game. I think this game showed why Venom spam isn’t as powerful this edition as it was last, you put 750pts of poison shooting into 170pts of bikes turn 1 and only just killed them, then turn 2 it was about 400pts of poison into a single Guardian unit and only just killed them. Sure, you had some bad rolls on the poison but you also had some very good rolls to average it out. It’s not helped that the meta has shifted from… Read more »

I never understand, why you as Eldar don’t have one or two units of deep strikers in a castle list, especially when objectives are so important.
Lawrence was able to completely ignore his own back field as he kept pushing Bone further and further back. This made Lawrence’s choices with Bone’s objective cards so much easier effectively rendering Bone with dead objective cards.

Still, as always, loved the batrep. Your banter is the best!

What melee weapon was the spider using again the fire prism??? Don’t recognize the stat line of it?

This Batrep never “tickled my pickle” … sorry chaps, 2 fast armies in a slog of attrition..

Great Batrep guys! I have two requests (Drukhari being my first Warhammer army ever, but 40k being on pause for me): 1) I want you, Lawrence, to tell the background story of the Spider (blessed be his black soul) – and I sure hope it is grimdark (although I have a sweet spot for Teri and friends…); make the narrative reports come true; 2) Give me a full Wyches army in a report; I want to see how to make something out of them.

Really really good game but this game really did show just how resilent / undercosted Talos are. They functionally took all Bones shooting he could physically put out, AS Well as linked fire strategem, dooms, and smites / executioner and they took 2 and a half rounds of it and still weren’t all dead. They’re widly tough and just far too efficient for the points. Enjoyed the game though guys, it alway suprises me just how much firepower the venom and squads inside put out, as well as blasters being 18″, -4 AND D6 damage they really do have the… Read more »

Hey Bone I’m genuinely interested. Why, in an army that is so very mobile, did you take a static “gunline”?

Maxwell Koch

Yeah, I don’t think the Ulthwe had a chance in that one. The dark eldar have a pseudo tournament list and we’ll the Ulthwe are kinda pathetic in comparison.

good game, just for info, my interpritation for explosions is role one die and all units within range take that many mortal wounds… speeds up the game 🙂

Thanks for the content guys.

Honestly, Maelstrom is starting to be quite a drag. Quite a few games lately feel like they aren’t that interesting to watch when it comes to the end of the game.

I would really like to see you all play more ETC style missions at the least.

Also, not everyone finds things like ravagers + archon boring.

Bone is correct all mortal wounds are treated as individual wounds therefore any half damage abilities the target may have are useless.

I’m glad i’m not the only one who takes Blasters on my kabalites for the looks, because they sure as heck don’t kill anything!! 🙂

I’m a truekin player so when I see no jinx I simply grin and rub my evil palms together 😉 That said, I did notice the serious amount of mortal wounds and the high amount of armor in his list lol. So the game will be interesting 😀 Thanks for the shout out though 🙂 And thanks for the awesome entertainment! Can’t wait for the addition of Coven and Cult, I have been playing more Cult myself recently. They are higher risk and reward which takes me back to our previous iterations a bit lol.

Ooh I love the fluffy slant! Always exciting when you guys paint a bit of a picture at the start, and pumped for the prospect of narrative reports down the line!! We’re all a broken record with singing your praises at this point but really TTT is the best 40k content out there by about a mile.

Did I miss Urien using his Casket of Flensing? Also I was sad not to see Urien setting off his Crucible of Malediction stratagem that close to Eldrad!

Great batrep guys, always love seeing the Drukhari even if Bone doesn’t. I enjoyed the level of how competitive the lists were for this one. Not quite tactica but plenty of bite still.

Mr. Bone needs to run some Khorne and channel that anger for the blood god lol. awesome game guys so hard to get board control against that venom spam. sometimes i wonder against drukhari if just moving out and taking objectives is the better move because its not like you’re getting way from them by backing into a castle you just get shot and charged to death why not do that while getting pts? but maelstrom maelstromed this game hard lol. keep up the awesome work guys.

cant halve mortal wounds. Each is a single point of damage. does he ignore/halve smite damage?? each mortal wound is separate and is damage one i believe. great bat rep with 2 of my fave armies! (wheres Abaddon i need to see him on the channel!) Keep them coming!!

I think the correct interpretation for the explode rule is that the player who controls the thing that is exploding rolls all of the dice. It is an ability on their datasheet, therefore they are responsible for resolving all of its rolls unless otherwise specified. You wouldn’t go rolling your opponent’s Disgustingly Resilient rolls now, would you? 😉

Not sure how it works in 40K but I know in AOS rules that half damage taken got FAQd to look at each damage value individually i.e. it is worthless against anything damage 1 or mortal wounds.

I love to see the Dark Eldar back in action. It still astounds me that as a long, long time Dark Eldar player the army has went from the bottom of the barrel to a top tier list in 8th. A somewhat serious question though: Does Spider feel any remorse for his dice rolls in game after game? Or does he delight in the anguish of his opponents as they watch yet another wound roll turn into dust from those gem dice?

Bjarni St.
Bjarni St.

Why do you like this mission? It’s just doubling down on dead cards which is already the critical flaw of Maelstrom.

On the Fire Prism v Talos math: Each double shooting full rerolls Prism on the d3 profile does 3,16 damage on average to a Prophets Talos pre-FNP so you were actually rolling close to average. With Jinx it goes to 4,21.

Just wanted to say I love all of your guys content! Bone and the Spider battle reports are the best in my opinion and I can’t wait for the five videos a week!

Great game guys, was laughing so hard after those first rolls. Bone’s face === priceless.

So much board control on the Drukhari side, literally pushed Bone into the corner. Would be great to see them pitched against a list that is equally pushy and had tools to deal with the talos.

Lawrence, I think Mr bone has replaced your red gem dice for imposter dice

Grat batrep guys. Remember that mortal wounds are allocated per one. So mortal wound damage doesn’t get halved. Actually it does, but one damage becomes 0.5 and thats 1 rounded up again. Saw it on the calgar batrep as well. Cheers!

Bone, turn 1, once the blasters and haywire failed to get the wave serpent you could have pulled bikes from the front to get out of los/rapid fire from subsequent venoms. Shuriken bikes are a lot of points investment to lose like that ?

Gizamaluke

That turn 1 kabalite shooting sums up my entire dark eldar experience and yet I still wouldn’t want any other army!

I don’t want to sound like a douche but your Craftworlds lists have started to become a lot too similar and a bit stale plus kinda inefficient. 1. There are a lot of other good units with great utility. Take rangers, of course they are better served under Alaitoc but they really fill in the niche of survivable backline campers and they are snipers. I won’t even start on the netter of Aspect warriors as they are literally half of army’s fluff and punch. (you showed us some converted shining spears, that was still only one report and than they… Read more »

Honestly, Bone is the reason I subscribed. He makes every game so dramatic and interesting, even when I don’t care for either of the armies being played.

I think the discussion about mainly bringing 3 of everything verse spreading it out is a super interesting one. I find in 8th ed I tend to build armies around as many different buffs and strategems as possible, meaning I have a variety of units. For instance my aeldari army has 1 unit shining spears which I intend to cast protect, fortune, quicken etc. on, 1 unit of guardians to deepstrike and guide (and be a back up for protect). I’ll take 1 hemlock to cast jinx (in addition to a warlock), but I’ll take 3 razorwings since they are… Read more »

I run drukhari in mostly raiders, 4 and a venom. I find it does well enough and would be something i would love to see you play and make gamey. As its my main army, its one i would love to see used more and look forward to you completing your list. Venoms have a place and i tend to use the 1 in my list as a heavy hitter deployment machine.
