Against almost any other army the teserect vault is underwhelming. Against a character heavy army, where you actually need to push your characters forward and have them in the wind a bit it is crazy brutal. Really great end of game discussion.

Hey guys, bit of a tech question for you. I notice all your videos are encoded to 25fps. With just about everyone having 60hz+ displays now is there any reason to not make 30 or 60fps encodes? Most motion interoplation programmes can convert 24fps to 60 but 25 is a problem. I find the production quality of your videos is really fantastic and it’s a big part of what hooked me on the channel (plus you guys are awesome). Is this a camera limitation or is there more to it?

Great report, gentlemen! I really enjoyed the report, but I also agree with many other comments on here that the post-game commentary was greatly valued. Bone has certainly come quite a ways in his understanding of the game and that shows in the analysis he gave at the end. I also agree that Sanga is improved greatly since his first few reports.

Keep up the good work, all of you!

i believe the T-vault used to be 493 points back in the days

In stead of dropping the points, Couldn’t the Tesseract vault be fixed with a stratagem? Something like 2/3 command points, at the start of the movement phase, it diverts power to shields, so movement is halved but it gains quantum shielding until its next movement phase…
Or make it when its targeted and just for the shooting phase. (like the rotate ion shields)
same stratagem for the monolith. this encourages you to bring one, but bringing 3 would be less powerfull.

Bone your stamina is amazing! You’ve been in how many reports this last little while? Always entertaining, a good sport and know the game, even across a bunch of factions.
Keep it up!

Great game, I actually love that you guys have a mix of gaming experience. Reflects the real world and helps us learn too.
I think I’d have gone for a threat overload, imagine if all the jump pack characters pushed up with the Death Company AND the Stormraven. Stormravens would then be getting the re-roll which is far more important then the back line troops.
A second wave of infantry and the Redemptor could have followed up to secure the mid field.
May not have worked but it’d have been epic ?

Good game and lots of learning points! Don’t forget Sanga, if you really want a mini-castle around your dreadnought re-rolling 1’s, dont forget you can pay 1CP and use “Wisdom of the Ancients”. You might not need it every battle, but it is an option. Especially if it allows you to keep your marine still so they can use max range rapid fire for Bolter discipline..

This battle is a case study on why playing Blood Angels (BA) is hard and full of traps. Attention! Wall of text incoming! I will preface this by saying that I main BA. I have resisted souping for more than a year (and to a certain extend I still do) and have learned a lot in that time. So, I will humbly share my thoughts on primarily melee armies. Depending on the ratio of melee/shooting, armies that want to punch things in the face have three general options: – Charge headlong into the enemy with everything, hoping to use threat… Read more »

Great battle report guys! Bone, I really liked your tactical analysis at the wrap-up, it was great to capture the learning moments. Please do more of that!

A lesson learned mean that the battle was worth it 😉
But honestly I can’t see why you would use close combat scouts even with the blood angels chapter tactic), scouts with a botler cost just the same and benefit from the bolter rule (wich hopefully becomes staple with the FAQ)
+ keeping your Stormravens close to your Captain firts turn will make them more effective (even better when a lieutenant is also around)

Really enjoyed the game, the ted talk at the end was really good! Sanga has come a long way but I agree with the points Ben made. Please keep it up Sanga, Bone and TTT crew as your content is still the best out there.

Great fun guys, thanks! Sure, the big flying pyramid in the sky may be too many points, but when facing an army with a bunch of solo characters it was always going to do work – classic thing where something being too expensive doesn’t mean its bad. More broadly, video has had me thinking about my issues with my first real 40k (life?) love, the Blood Angels (other than my inability to paint red…). Stuff that the book encourages you to take is exceptionally squishy, and actually rather luck dependent, especially compared to some of the newer codexes out there.… Read more »

For the Primaris with 1 dude out of cover, Senger could have took the wounds on the guy outside cover first, then the last 4 would have been in cover. Nice to see this Funky Cron Army!

I loved that part at the end! Super nice as a new player to have that sort of thing.
Also, on the topic of overpriced models with no invulnerable, what are the chances of seeing a wraithknight in a battle report?

Mario Lasan

You made a mistake when doing rapid fire with the unit of Warriors into the Stormraven (turn 2) – You mentioned that you had My Will Be Done on the unit which would make them hit on 2+ rather than 3+ which is their regular Ballistic Skill

Bit late dropping this comment but I just wanted to say to Sanga that I feel like you’ve really upped your game over the last few bat reps as well as seeming a lot more natural on camera, so just wanted to say good job man and keep up the good work. I know everyone’s doing it but have you thought about holding the 85 pts back in future lists for an assassin? They feel to good to miss out on, especially when you can just pick whichever suits the game you’re in ? Edit: I think the icarus pod… Read more »

Bone I really enjoyed that chat. I’m definitely at the level where your input is helpful, not being quite the pro player the spider is. Please keep it up and get Sanga on more. Blinkered charge vision is definitely a thing!

Small thought I had when the Slam Captain Warlord was charging, and failed the charge. I think it would have been clever to declare a charge against everything within 12″, as it gives you options.
I might be wrong, but the Ghost Ark seemed to be within the range rolled, and it would have at least been a target for the Captain to smash.

This game made me think of another style of tactica I would love to see:
Games where you “rewind” turns to actually try different approaches. More academic bat reps in a way. Wouldn’t even have to play the whole game, but just do Turn 1 a few times. It could help us all become better players I think.

Deploying Death Company is so tricky. If you don’t get first turn it’s a real struggle to keep them alive, putting them in a vehicle limits your numbers and deep striking I always fail my charge 🙂 I have 40 of them and they are my favourite models but lord they are difficult.

AINZ OAL GOWN
AINZ OAL GOWN

Hey bbone why on the BA 2nd turn did you remove models from the back on your warriors? If you kept them there couldn’t you have immortal pride and a longer charge? Or am i missing something?

Martijn Poot

Yeah, the tesseract vault went up in points. The introduction of the Knight codex already fixed it, people weren’t prepared to deal with 3 superheavies, after the knights dropped they were. The points were fine where they were, in my humble opinion. Now, let’s see it wreak havoc! *starts watching batrep*

N.B. In the index the monolith was BS 4+, and Imotekh the stormlord, being the phaeron of the Sautekh dynasty and all, had a leadership of 9. The first faq fixed those =p

Love seeing the angels, my first love army. I struggle with death company same thing happens i tend to get blown off the board, but I do fancy some suppressors to take advantage of the kill something then no overwatch. Great rep as always, would love to see a devestation of baal re-enactment if possible, you might have done one latley but been watching loads hahaha

Really liked the ending conversations, i make a lot of the same mistakes in my own games where i always get blinkered and don’t think of the overall picture.

So the story of the tesseract vault is the necrons imprisoned the ctan in them and siphoned their power for weapons of mass destruction!

Some really weird dice rolls this game. You should both go sacrifice a live goat at the next full moon and get rid of that weird juju

Tomas Callan

Oddly enough in Italian the name Luigi can mean “renowned fighter” and in Latin the name Mario can mean “hammer,” so ironically those are quite fitting names for the super smash bros! Great battle report as always, although those dice were certainly acting up a bit.

even in a normal detachment it wouldnt help the vault. Ctan dont get dynasty benefits

The vault used to be 496 and had no invun in the index, then stayed the same points and got an invun

Thankyou for using units you dont normally see I would love to see more games like this and it makes it fun to watch especially as my nephew wants me to buy necrons with a vault in it.

Sangas BA look great and i enjoy seeing them on the table. My big question is, are you putting any of the new vigilus primaris marines in your list?

Love watching everyone improve. Hearing that type of conversation really does help me as a new player.

Icarus rocket pod is only 1 damage sadly, not d3. It should be! I don’t think it really changed anything in the game though.

Thanks for the content.

As an aside will we see the Colonel make a guest appearance soon?!

Don’t even care Bone! You’re using two of my favorite Necron models ever. Win or lose it doesn’t matter. Take my money! 🙂

Schimo

Great advice from Bone at the end. Often times (with CA18) if you basically know you’re not going first its best to just screen your characters, deploy some scouts forward but out of line of sight (to keep characters protected while moving up the board) and just put Death Company in Deep strike. Especially if you have some good firepower (like 2 Stormravens or a souped Knight), a Turn2 Death Company arriving from deep strike (Characters have moved 24″ by now and should also be arriving) is absolutely deadly. If you DO seize the initiative, you can Forlorn Fury a… Read more »

Sanga I think if you checked line of sight from Vault and ghost ark onto the death company turn one it is likely you could have pulled casualties to get your DC out of sight of one of them before the other fired. Pulling strategically could have saved you some of those expensive DC I think. Great game!
