That was great guys, well done. Just one thing to note with this mission. You score the points at the start of each player turn, not the battle round. You move the objectives at the start of the battle round (which you were doing) but score on the player turn. This is big for whoever goes first as it gives them a chance to shoot the other play of their objective. This would have come up in this game. Also Bone would have held an objective more times than he did because in all of these chapter approved missions they’ve… Read more »

Is it really correct that you can use Adrenaline Surge on a unit outside of 1″ (if it did declare a charge vs that enemy unit)?

I thought the follow me lads only give you the bonus range if the hq already had the abilities? Could be wrong!

I have to say as cool as they look, those Reivers don’t seem worth it to me…. As far as anti-mech, I am using a couple different things: Meltas on Sergeant vets, and frag cannons(2 shots short range lascannon with flat 2 damage)surrounded by storm bolters/SS vets. When deep striking in isn’t too bad or stick them in a corvus. (Or even the relic beacon on a smash captain) Missile launchers in a squad of vets with stalker bolters/SS. I know stalker bolters are out of fashion now days, but sitting back with a Watch master and a couple launchers… Read more »

Against Orks, a Malanthrope can be devastating. Devastating!

I think that objective rule could be made a bit more interesting. For example, rather than rolling off on each objective individually, the players roll off for first choice of which objective to move in a direction of their choice, the player that lost the roll then gets to choose the second objective to move and so on, alternating until all the objectives have been moved.

That way the roll off decides who goes first but both players have to make interesting tactical decisions about which of the objectives are a priority for them to move.

Good game gents! I love seeing the new Orks in action. They are such an iconic baddie of the game. Bone, I suggest going back to your Death Guard roots. Nurgle loves you. Grotti loves you. Embrace the corruption!

Thanks for another great batrep.
You guys are a main reason, why I came back to 40k last year.
Can someone explain ne, why a 4“ distance in the deployment would prevent the genestealers „double-tap“ da Lawrence mentioned in the analysis?
I thought with pile in, consolidation and 1“ fightdistance they could reach out 7“?
Thank you

Awesome game, really thought B-Bone was gonna run away with it when he seized but never count out the Spider!

Just upgraded to a yearly membership. I really enjoy your shows, thank-you!

At what point in the game do the dice become irrelevant? When you have 60+ attacks hitting on 2+. rolling dice starts to seem pretty superfluous. There is almost no consequence to rolling bad when you have so many high quality attacks.

Casper S. Nielsen

What is up with that pile in from the bikes in bones turn 2. They where clearly within an inch of the Swarmlord and somehow piled in away from him.

I have a compromise that will satisfy Lawrence AND B-Bone in one fell swoop. Its not Terry the Terivgon, its Teary the Tervigon. Get it? Tear-y? Thats what the Evil Sunz named her when she TORE a warboss limb from limb!!! XD XD XD

Mark Vachon

That… was a lot of dice rolling 🙂

Great game as always guys! Quick one for bone: you can farm with Tyranids using the feeder tendrils stratagem, great nifty one if you can get a toxicrene, venomthrope, lictor or genestealer unit in! Also broodlord has a 4+ save as well lightning fast reflexes!! He would have survived that first turn combat with the Ork boys 🙁 regardless was really close and exciting game guys- love seeing bone getting better and better with the nids (my favourite army) ?

Just one final idea for you to consider when building your list Jormungandr cover when stationary is huge. Put that on a T-Fex and that’s a 2 up save tough 8 14 wound beast give them rapture 6 str 9 Lascannons hitting on fours and combine that with the Malonthrop which has synapse and -1 to hit and now you have a unit that can slug it out with a knight.

My experience playing Nids is that hitting is rarely the issue, survivability is the problem particularly with hvys.

Bone as a player of Nids, can you get some rippers painted. You needed some cheap objective holders.

“Id apreciate it if you didn´t”
“Well…I´d apreciate it if you just die!”

Thats kinda taking trashtalk to the next level. Save the mouth for the tournaments there Lawrence!

Awesome game!
I swear Lawrence actually retreats to the other side of the table at one point after “rolling a Lawrence” to be out of reach of Bone ?

I hate to be a bummer but Tyranids are a hive mind right? So there’s no individuality, so there would be no need for names and hence I’m sorry to say but Terry doesn’t exist.

Viktor

Hive Guard should be shooting twice every turn to make up the points. 6 models sitting on objective in the ruins out of the LoS is horrific when you use Strat to shoot twice… otherwise they are average

Khyz0r
Khyz0r

Ooh yeah, c’mon Mr Bone. Love seeing it all fall into place with that sieze and all the right Kraken strat’s going off in Turn 1! Nids for life Mr Bone, even the disgustingly resilient will be devoured. 🙂

Let’s see what grotty can do in the face of this beast. Bring on Orks turn 1.

B-Bone – question – don’t genestealers suffer from morale? They don’t have synapse on their data slate. Hope I’m wrong.

Krezzlar
Krezzlar

Interesting match. I thought you could’ve considered leaving the secondary units of genestealers further back or more hidden. With the Swarmlord’s speed, you don’t need the genestealers to be that close to the front to get the 2nd turn charges off. Especially versus orks who generally want to be moving towards you anyway.

Hey Guys! Subscribed 2 months ago and haven’t looked back. Love it all. Had a question/comment/discovery with the tyranid codex the other day for Bone. The Tyrannofex can be equipped with a fleshborer hive and could then use 2 stratagems in its shooting phase. +1 to wound from scorch bugs and 2 dmg per shot with pathogenic slime. Which means if he didn’t move, he could have 40 shots at Str 5 (+1 to wound) at damage 2. It would cost 3 CPs to pull off but the damage potential seems truly horrific. I guess the real downside would be… Read more »

@BBone could I ask a tactical choice question of you? In your turn 3 you move Swarmlord up to face the warlord and a biker and leave a TFex stationary. Would the better play to have been to move the TFex towards the centre objective (not sure if it could reach with an advance it’s hard to tell) and let Swarmlord drop the warlord in close combat. This would have allowed you to charge and sit Swarmy directly on top of the objective stopping Lawrence moving it away and gaining you an extra point (assuming Swarm drops the warlord in… Read more »

I see orcs vs nids, I watch instantly. I watch almost every report anyways, but this one needs to be watched immediately!

Also bone in the nid vs orks matchup consider taking paroxysm, because of the FAQ it makes it so one unit can’t interrupt when you charge them so you can get two units of genestealers first turn instead of just one 🙂

Nikko Villaruz
Nikko Villaruz

Broodlord has a 4+ armor save, he would’ve lived at the end of the first ork turn, also the tyrannofex cc weapon is ap -1 and does 2 dmg so he would’ve squished a bike.

Great game, nids vs orks is always a fun match up 🙂

Have to point out B-Bone at 1:08:44 Broodlords have a 4+ armour save

Thanks for bringing the Orks out! And especially against the Nids. It was super fun 🙂 And of course, who else would throw 3 times 11+ strength with the Shokk Attack Gun if not Lawrence 😀 (I played 3 games with 3 Shokk Attack Guns in the last competition and did not throw str 11+, not even once ?) Few comments from an Ork player if you do not mind. 1. Evil Sunz bikes can advance and still hit on 5+ as they ignore -1 from Assault weapons. 2. Gretchin mob can have 30 models max, so I assume the… Read more »

Great battle report, just a rules query, if your playing with the new FAQ, the attack again stratagem at the end of the phase which you both used can only be activated if your with 1” of a target. This was used in a way to stop units fighting back.

nids strat feeder tendrils kinda allows cp farming, tricky though

I always cheer for Tyranids when they are on the channel, I always cheer for BBone when he is playing. So when BBone is playing ‘Nids? Oh buddy.

Also, how do you all feel about the FAQ changes to fly in regards to Flyrants? They are back to being super good right?

Awesome batrep guys, I thoroughly enjoyed that.

I generally use six hive guard as you suggested pregame Lawrence though I have twelve, not actually played with them all yet
