Loved the callidus turning up and straight up Arya Starking the prince. So awesome! You May have sold me one of those babies with that little moment stig… Say what you want about 8th but I definitely find it to have the most cinematic moments of any other edition which is why i think its the best. Vindicares always seem to cause havoc in my experience. Psychological affect alone seems worth the points. Competitive? I think they are certainly worth considering if you are loyal to the corpse emporer. great rep gents. Great moments and some great discussion points. Keep… Read more »

The amount of saves Bbone made on turn two was just off the hook… Lawrence are you showing him how to roll 5s and 6s?

oh bone, the bikers fell back from the snail boi they should have taken some mortal wounds but to be fair there are so many rules to remember great game 🙂

When i had my Nurgle deamons list i ran it with three princes as well as the other herald types, works better as you have princes picking and killing their targets

This honestly was a great game to watch. It showed off all aspects of the game really well! Definitely one of my favourites batreps. Seeing a great unclean one is always a spectacle!! I reckon it’d be absolutely epic to see a no-nonsense 180 plaguebearer list on a Tactica. It may not be an overly exciting Nurgle list but it is an exciting challenge to go up against! And it would be fun to watch of course.

I’m not sure if it would have kept one nurgling base alive, but you’ve missed their DGR on the first turn combat @B-Bone… Stig did roll quite well on the D3 damage rolls, but it could’ve made quite the difference. Denying that first strike is always good. Great batrep as always and good the see the Custodes/Assassins again. Keep it up!

I kinda disagree that Stig’s list wasn’t competitive. He’s running around with assassins. The Culexus is what, 85 points and practically shuts down an entire phase (although it shuts down his own iirc). If it wasn’t for that giant rock his vindicare probably would have been picking off the infantry characters too. Having said that, this was probably one of the hardest match ups for the Nurgle Daemon host which has precious little rend options outside its monsters. Probably would have been good to put in a Plague Hulk or Soul Grinder into the list as well. I like the… Read more »

Nurgle Daemons are such a wierd army to play or play against. So many different auras to remember and it’s a really careful balance between over committing to wipe out a unit and putting in just enough to avoid reality blinks.

Great game and victory Stig and commiserations Bone, hopefully a well deserved pint after that game.

Looking forward to the Termite!

Glad to see Stig pull out a victory in this game. Also, sometimes it’s really great to see two mediocre armies (lists, not necessarily codexes) have a go at it. I feel like the later turns matter more when the armies aren’t alpha striking each other.
Great game in the end, love your work!

Awesome to see this kind of small, elite army vs large horde. Felt very true to the lore even if not exactly evenly matched!

I’d love to see this done in a narrative setting for a custodes campaign or other elite army, that way you can maybe have tons of pox walkers or similar chaff units. They would just be there to slow down the enemy and provide awesome thematic combat as they get mowed down, then have a few more genuine threats spaced out to be the real danger.

I’m sure that would be a pain to balance it right though.

Worldspawn

This was awesome entertainment guys 😀

B-Bone, I took the shell off my Horticulous Slimux (Racing Snail) to make go faster, but it only made him sluggish!

I got a membership to TTT because I love the channel. I also subscribed hoping there’d ve custodes and bam! Right after I join up there are the golden boys! Much love to the TTT crew!

Not sure if it’s mentioned elsewhere but the bilepiper rule is for morale tests failed near enemy bilepipers, so it doesn’t harm the home team.

Great batrep as ever. Will you chaps be attending any WHW GT Heats this year?

The Culexus Assassin debuffs ALL Psykers within range! Means Greyfax also gets -2 to cast and deny as long as she is in his bubble! 🙂

Thanks guys, it was a fun match up, I looked at the total play time as it started and I went, “ok this is gonna be a long one 3 hours after editing” but This was great! Two totally different armies. Nurgle Horde vs The Empress Golden Boys. I was going for Nurgle but in the end I was really pleased that Stig and the Custodes won, as they should after suffering heavy losses on both sides but standing firm in the face of Chaos, the ancient enemy. Can’t wait for the termite Stig and do you guys rate the… Read more »

Just so you guys know, the modifier from the Culexus reduces the result of the psychic test, so if you roll a 9, it becomes a 7, which means that it can be denied on an 8, not a 10.

im currently building a Nurgle army. and its gonna be very similar to this. but its gonna be a chaos knight 2 helvines for the firepower, and duel battalions with 90 bearers. hopefully the chaos knight codex brings a cool nurgle themed “house”
cant wait,
great games guys!

#1 tactical mistake bone made, not using the green dice! 🙁

Like kittens fighting noodles…
I think we can all agree it can be a long time before we see that particular combination again. Not that it wasn’t a great game – but I feel for you Stig and Bone! Haha

Great game, would have been nice to see Nurgle win. Does the team actually not know how many points you are on or is it banter? Just a thought for the new studio, a score board?

Play mixed Daemons Bone my man. You will enjoy it a hell of a lot more.

Richard Caine

This whole thing reminded me of the battle in the Webway from “The Master of Mankind”. It’s kind of neat when two of the toughest armies in the game throw down. Bone, rarely have your ones done more work for you than in this game. I was rolling over with laughter at Stig’s expression every morale phase. To follow on that though, I think you would enjoy a Slaanesh army. Every one I’ve seen plays like you like to play Tyranids. And it would let you leverage your ones. Heaven help us if Beard discovers demon armies. He’ll end the… Read more »

Bone, do not give up on Nurgle. Grotti loves you too much for that. Stick to Death Guard. They are a better army to play and you can still put in some Nurgle demon units for fluff if you want.

Love you guys and the reports, stig slow down think about your rules you said I reroll wounds then reroll next round of eds attacks. Also stig custodes can interrupt on an objective for 1cp

I feel tired just watching this game. I was buzzing for it as custodes are my army, but it was abit of a slog fest. That’s the problem with horde armies! Elite’s for the win! Especially in long batrep form.
maybe for horde armies you could do quick fire whole turn summaries?

Token Bastard

Well that was well and thoroughly fun to watch, fellas. Matches like this I’m reminded a lot of this gif:comment image

Any chance The Stig is ever gonna add some of the Forgeworld Custodes units to his lineup? I feel like some of the super-dreadnoughts they get could definitely provide some crazy mix-up to his golden boy lists.

Fun armies, but you guys keep messing up the Vindicare. He only wounds infantry on a 2+. The demon prince is a T6 Monster.

Love both of these armies, annoying watching at times as it makes me want all of the things!! Lol great report and remember no more command re-rolls…..

Andrew Carter

Very cool battle, loved watching the chosen few battle through the Nurgle horde!

My problem with a pure Nurgle Daemon list is that it has neither weight of dice or much AP so it’s fairly easy for it to get stumped. Not a fan of the playstile either as I muchprefer fast moving armies.

Lector27
Lector27

oh man, funnily enough since Stig went first …. woudlnt that mean we never saw Bone’s turn 5? haha well in any case, probably wouldn’t have made too much of a difference – I feel the same way about Nurgle daemons as you bone, it can be a bit tiresome, especially with the drudgery of rolling the resilient rolls. As far as daemons go, would be very interested in seeing some Slaanesh daemons, especially with some of those new models if you guys have any plans on acquiring them? I also think that Slaanesh might be more your style Bone,… Read more »

That was awesome i loved the melee that was going on for ages just two armies tearing away at each other. I thought it was going to be a very close again until one key moment where things started to snowball.

Guys, it was a great Batrep, I had a lot of fun watching it, and was very happy to see Stig again, but please don’t roll those DGR saves against d3 damage one at a time. It becomes obnoxious and as the result 30 minutes of the batrep is rolling DGR one at a time. There are several ways to fast-roll multi-damage. Here are few examples: Lets take the example from the game. First of all, Stig doesn’t have to roll those d3 against Plague Bearers one at a time. He rolls the whole bunch and then Bone resolves each… Read more »
