The video is not playing correctly for me Lawrence. Can’t confirm if it is me only but I’ve tried two seperate devices.

Lawrence!! Boss Game 1 my friend! I’m from Boston, MA so I hope to see you guys and Bone this time (you were sorely missed my Toga friend!) at LVO! Really enjoyed my beating as you can see from the big smile on my face haha (Bone – I now know the feeling of seeing nothing but sixes from Lawrence haha). You summed the game up perfectly and really the issue with World Eaters. Love their fluff which is why I play them, but its same old story, they don’t have many units that can deliver pain/distractions other than Berserkers…The heldrakes are good in theory, buts it’s all luck when it comes to bale flamer and charges, they should have super sonic -1 to hit and something else to make them worth the points…wish I could have gotten some better dice roles to give you a better game, but demon smites hurt a lot ouch! Had a blast and thanks for the kind words!! Good luck with getting the new studio online, I’ll have to plan on making a stop there next time I cross the pond! Wishing the best and rooting for the Grey Knights in this tournament season!!

Brother, it was a pleasure! As you say, I feel the pain for the World Eaters right now. Fingers crossed those Daemon Engines like Heldrakes get some points adjustments in Chapter Approved. Berserkers and marines in general need to be much more resilient too!! So awesome you’ll be at the LVO! Bone and I are definitely there, so let’s grab some beers dude!

Hawaiian Pizza = Best pizza. <3 Hope to see yourself and Stig again sometime soon, absolute gents.

I had no idea how close that Winters game was! He kept starting every conversation on Sunday with "guys, don't bring knights to tournaments." XD

It’s in the Big FAQ 2! You’ll find it listed under “things that make Stig cry” 😭

A great analysis of an unusual approach to a GK list (we expected nothing less from you). It was great to see you taking the “sporting” attitude to the charge rule.

I’m not convinced that an army relying on d3 smite would be fun to play. Would you want to win by magic or by tactical superiority? Twenty years ago, I hated winning in two turns with my WFB Lizardman army and was glad when they changed the rules. It was too easy causing earthquakes etc to win regardless of mission, opponent or terrain.

I agree that the lack of “Null Zone” is strange and basic GK being 1.5x the cost of Primaris seems ridiculous … especially when the latter got a price cut last year. Chapter Approved 2018 is going to be an interesting read.

Great Vox Cast Lawrence! I’m fairly new to Grey Knights and love all the bat reps and buzz around them on the channel. Because of you I’m working on a couple of Ven Dreads at the moment =)

Chaos Familiar is great – you can switch Smite out so can end up with 3 Dark Hereticus powers, which is cool. Also…”it was inSALTing, I think i rolled 6 as my two highest dice” 😛

I was really disheartened by Grey Knights…my first army pick to start up 8th, bought all the models and got part way through painting. Overcame some stumbling blocks there (i’m ‘severely colourblind’ according to the opticians, so even the shades of greysilver are tough to discern) and then had to pack it all away for a house move….which then was delayed for months!

Over that time i just saw new codexes come out with so much cool stuff and the GK just fall by the wayside, along with Space Marines and even Chaos (my other army choice). I also wasted £19 on a culexus assassin that i can’t fit in points wise or use without losing the GK chapter tactics, which really annoyed me…my mistake for not reading the rules properly, but it still annoyed me!

But seeing the latest batreps, listening to this and absorbing the Spider’s tactics, i’m seeing the love for them again and now i’ve moved and unpacked, i’ll finish them and start playing. I do have a few terminators, so i’ll have: Draigo, GM in NDK, 2x Falchion strike squads, 1x terminator squad, a Storm Raven, an Ancient and a Paladin squad to get me some games in, before seeing what Chapter Approved brings.

As for Chapter Approved, I think: Paladins Terminators should be Custodes Allarus level stats (i think they cost about the same?!), the psi-weapons buffed (maybe introduce psi-stormbolters with a -1 AP?), Smite put to Thousand Sons level (make it so only the squad leaders can cast powers), 50% deepstrike Turn 1 is allowed for GK (it’s fluffy and how they’re meant to fight), and adjust some strategem costs down by 1 CP.

Some changes like that would be great…but i fear we’ll just get some Primaris at a much higher cost than the regular SM version, and the ability to add the GK keyword to more Forgeworld units…

Very well done!! and great to see a “very” experienced player that wants to make the week army strong.
I loved playing WFB “underdog” lists in tournaments and aim for the top 10. Much more satisfying :-).
Thats twice I have seen you talk about No Retreat and it is soooo inspiring, I think next year I will apply…. with a very “fluffy” list.. mono-god daemons of Slaanesh/Khorne?… mono-faction Skitarii?… Knight Preceptor and his students (7 Armigers)… what to choose? 😉

“Winters was kind enough to make it interesting by rolling just really badly.”

As a regular watcher of Winters SEO, and as someone who has played him, this does not surprise me at all. 😀

My friend, Magnus wishes to have a word.

I have been thinking of spell familiaring for death hex for some time! Maybe a bit of a problem for tournaments, but prescience, warptime and the god specific ones are great (litanies of excess!). Very chaos like to hide it though :p

I like to play Grey Knights myself and I feel like some of the heavy weapons need to be looked at as well as they don’t do as much as a storm bolter or you are better off taking dreadnaughts like Lawrence did. I would also like them to have extra attacks in melee as they feel like a very melee army but from my experience are quite underwhelming unless you are fighting demons and have a grandmaster nearby for the refills.
